We are looking for an enthusiastic and results orientated individual to lead the OH team ensuring delivery of a pro-active, evidence-based, value-adding, safe and effective occupational health service. You will work with management colleagues to continually improve and develop the occupational health provision and promote employee health and wellbeing,

  • Lead the team of OHAs and OHTs in line with the values, ensuring they have clear objectives, regular reviews and PDP's. Act as a coach and mentor to OHAs and OHTs

  • Ensure achievement of OH activities in line with legislation, Company Policy and health surveillance

  • Guide and support OHAs to provide specialist advice to managers enabling them to manage work related health issues and sickness absence

  • Lead a review of all OH policies and procedures and OH Guide ensuring all practices are appropriate, evidence based and meet legislative and best practice requirements. Ensure implementation in all areas

  • Monitor the OH service provision and seek feedback to ensure stakeholder expectations are being met and take action where relevant

  • Manage team workload and assign responsibilities accordingly making the best use of individual strengths and skills

  • Produce and analyse data to allow for reporting on employee health and measurement of OH service provision

  • Audit the OH provision to ensure compliance with OH procedures, legislation and best practice

  • Work closely with SHE team to identify opportunities to improve employee health, minimise work related health issues and ensure legislative requirements are met

  • Ensure delivery of a Health & Wellbeing programme

  • Work alongside L&D team to develop training initiatives/materials to upskill employees and managers in accordance with Line Manager and other colleagues.

  • Ensure all OH equipment is maintained, calibrated and safe for use in line with guidelines

  • Ensure the OH team are maintaining accurate, secure up-to date records on SOHM

  • Identify opportunities for enhancements through use of technology

  • Take responsibility for own personal development and ensure knowledge and skills are kept up to date

  • Support with case management as required

Candidate Description

3 days per week (or equivalent hours over 4 days),

  • Registered Nurse with a recognised qualification in Occupational Health

  • Demonstrable and relevant experience as an OHA including case management

  • Sound knowledge of current employment law and health and safety legislation

  • Ability to analyse data and produce management information

  • IT literate & experienced in the use of OH systems

  • Experience of developing policy and practice within occupational health

  • Excellent communication/ interpersonal skills/ Influencing/networking skills

  • Driving licence and willing to undertake reasonable travel

  • Organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload for self and team

  • Approachable, supportive and engaging with direct reports
