Job Description

The Local Testing Sites (LTS) are part of this response to the recent pandemic and are intended to test members of the public so they can self isolate or prove negative results. As part of this mass mobilisation over the time a large amount of centres have been created.

As things develop these sites have a requirement to be demobilised either decommissioned permanently or so they can be moved to other areas or repurposed into possible vaccination centres.

This role will operate across the South of the England providing mobile support to these operations.

The role will be for a fixed term but it is a great opportunity to demonstrate your capabilities to the wider Mitie network where potential is endless.

SMP Demobilisation Lead Headline Responsibilities

  • Attend Pre-Closure Survey and review all items to be removed with Infrastructure Supplier, DHSC Regional Team and complete Inventory Checklist and Asset Signoff

  • Ultimate decision maker onsite for all operational matters

  • Maintain contact with the Network Development Team and Regional Lead on any matters that could potentially affect demobilisation timelines

  • Work through the inventory list and determine where items are to be sent

  • Attend Site Closure at 8pm

  • Ensure removal of some non-infrastructure items (admin equipment etc.) on day 1 of demobilisation

  • Ensure any items being donated have appropriate decontamination certificates

  • Ensure all items being disposed of follow correct waste management guidelines

  • Attend Site Exit Survey and ensure the Handback Signoff is completed,

  • Complete Handback Report following the Site Exit Survey,

  • Raise any damages/remediation costs

  • If remediation works were necessary, attend a second site inspection with the landowner to confirm that site is now in a satisfactory condition

  • Feedback any specific lessons learnt or proposed changes to the process to the Central Team

Candidate Description

  • Administration experience essential

  • Management experience essential

  • CDM and QHSE aware

  • Project experience

  • Able to lead, motivate and manage a team effectively

  • Seeks out and takes opportunities to learn new skills as part of personal and professional development

  • Flexibility over working hours. In particular to cover occasional out of hours working to support winter maintenance

  • Lead by example in all role activities

  • Relevant experience of Microsoft packages

  • Excellent data entry skills

  • Keen eye for detail

  • Financial Awareness

  • A flexible approach to working

  • A knowledge of facilities management sectors is desirable

  • Ability to manage own time and prioritise workload

  • Relationship building skills - in particular to be a self-starter willing to take the initiative when necessary and excellent ability to work well within a team structure, and support and guide team members as required
