To ensure compliance with contractual, Home Office, Company, legislative and relevant standards, to ensure performance and best practice are effectively managed, maintained and improved
Provide advice, coaching and support to staff in order to maximise the efficient and effective operation of the Centre
Develop Service Level Agreements and Key Performance Indicators for approval by the Centre Manager and the Authority to enable performance to be agreed and measured
Develop a climate of innovation and continuous improvement so that all staff are focussed on meeting contractual requirements, adding value and delivering best practice
Provide support and advice to the Senior Management Team to ensure quality standards are met in compliance with relevant legislation
Assist in the production of the monthly Centre Managers report ensuring all key information is accurately recorded and reported to the Home Office client
Manage the Self Audit process for Standard and Security modules to ensure completion to the agreed timetable in line with the contract
Promote diversity and inclusioin in decisions regarding recruitment, promotion and developing the team, so we harness the best local talent and develop a wide range of individuals for future opportunities
Coach and support staff development to maximise staff performance, motivation and contribution.
Manage and monitor staff to ensure an effective performance and compliance service is delivered in line with contractual obligations and company standards
Establish effective communications and version control systems ensuring that relevant information is processed and disseminated both accurately and to deadline
Educate staff in their understanding of the contract and the execution of their duties in compliance with the requirement of that contract
Manage contractual specifications to ensure they are an integral part of management decisions and actions, in order to maintain contractual compliance
Assist in promoting Health & Safety and Environment to ensure it is embedded and its' requirements are met across the Centre
Assist in ensuring the progression and effective implementation of identified energy reduction programmes
Manage the Centre's external accreditation programmes such as ISO 9001 / 14001 in line with Mitie corporate accreditation
· This role requires previous experience of working in a custodial environment
· Relevant previous experience of managing a small team of at least 1-5 individuals
· Relevant previous experience in audit, compliance and standards
· Excellent attention to detail
· Clear Communicator: Both verbal and written English of a high standard
· Level 6 Qualification, or accredited to level 6 from relevant experience: e.g. Degree Apprenticeship, Degree (BA / BSc), Graduate level Certificates, Diploma or Awards. NVQ Level 6 in an appropriate discipline.
