Job Description

The purpose of the role is providing oversight and review of controls, processes and operations, ensuring the implementation of Group HSW Framework and Standards and providing governance and assurance of HS. We're looking for someone who approaches HSW differently, for us it's about working with our people, suppliers and the business to get the best outcomes. You'll always be on the lookout for better ways of doing things and will be comfortable working as part of an international team. With us you will:

  • Ensuring the implementation of HSW Framework and Standards and then ensuring adequate monitoring of compliance at Group and local OpCo's

  • Deliver Group reporting requirements, preparing quarterly updates on performance KPIs and plans, and accurate incident reporting at group level. Liaising with local OpCo HS leads to meet quarterly reporting requirements.

  • Manage and maintain global incident reporting portal, reviewing and providing quality assurance of all incidents reported aligned to HSW03 Incident reporting

  • Provide support and competent HS advice to Group HR and Group functions

  • Monitoring and reporting HS&W performance across Vodafone Business customer contracts

  • Support Vodafone Business Bid Support process

  • Develop road map to implementing a safety management system aligned to ISO45001 in Vodafone Business with the ambition of securing certification

  • Supporting ongoing COVID response and ensuring Group COVID risk assessments are updated and supporting Group Property and Group HR in future plans to return to the workplace plans

  • Coordinate HS requirements in the Vodafone Global Remote Working Policy for Vodafone Group

Candidate Description

  • Significant Health & Safety experience gained within a corporate environment

  • Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health

  • Keeping up to date with new legislation and maintaining a working knowledge of all the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) in the UK

  • Able to take prompt action to achieve objectives and proactively seek opportunities to act before being asked

  • An ability to adapt easily to rapidly changing business needs and able to modify an approach to achieve successful solutions and results in dynamic situations

  • Acquires and uses technical and professional knowledge, skills and judgement to advise and achieve results

  • Great stakeholder management, listening and understanding the needs of both internal and external customers managing challenge confidently and positively to maintain relationships

  • Able to critically evaluate processes and systems to support compliance

  • Experience implementing and maintaining management systems and third party certifications such as OHSAS18001 and ISO45001

  • Experience implementing and maintaining safety software to drive efficiencies and improvements in HS performance
