Job Description

Dual role in supporting the DCS finance director as deputy in all matters with "Business Finance" whilst providing financial analysis and business partnering as a finance business partner to the DCS exco. Direct responsibility for the line management of the DCS Global Management Accountant and indirect management of Trainee Accountant., Management Accounts & Financial Control

  • Facilitate the month end close for DCS ensuring process runs smoothly for all divisions globally. Attending P&L close meetings, understanding major financial movements and challenging any assumptions made to form month end result.

  • Produce month end pack and commentary for DCS finance director globally for presentation to GWS CFO.

  • Facilitate and manage key stakeholders to reconciling P&L close results across ERP's and reporting systems, understand major differences and resolve in a timely manner by managing team and key subject matter experts.

  • Facilitate the monthly forecast process for all divisions, attend all forecast meetings, understand major financial movements / Risks & Opportunities/ and challenge any assumptions made by the business.

  • Produce detailed forecast deck for DCS finance director on key areas such as: Phasing/New hires/LOB/ and new business.

  • Be the owner of the central Opex P&L, managing the DCS management accountant to ensure P&L close, forecast and current expenditure levels are inline with expectation.

  • Develop targets and benchmarking processes to challenge the financial information of DCS whilst aiming to improve overall financial performance.

  • Be the lead in outlining yearly planning process, producing tools and financial models to enable the business to complete a detailed plan with positive leverage and double-digit bottom-line growth.

  • Support the DCS finance director with producing all the required submissions and documentation to DCS president / GWS CEO/CFO and US corporate.


  • Develop and implement a consistent reporting matrix and methodology for all business lines which has compliance from Operational and Financial perspective and ensures a culture of "High Governance" is established.

  • Produce DCS KPI financial reports & flashes which encourage, motivate and inform DCS stakeholders to help meet planned growth targets.

  • Produce accurate monthly P&L for senior stakeholders, with detailed commentary and analysis to make informed business decisions.

  • Prepare cost-benefit reports and pro-active analytical works to facilitate continuous improvement of DCS.

  • Produce "forward looking" financial models for DCS exco to facilitate strategic planning with regards to DCS long term strategy.

  • Work with the FinPro/ D&T team to help develop, improve and fix business reports out of local ERP's and reporting platforms which will help improve financial oversight and governance for all of DCS.

  • Any other specific ad hoc reporting & projects as and when required.

    Business Relationships

  • Act as a specialist partner to the DCS Exco to both advise and challenge senior management on performance.

  • Identify key stakeholders of DCS across the organization and establish strong collaborative relationships to help support and advise with specialist expertise.

  • Ensure Management Account/Reports issues and solutions are identified promptly, communicated to the appropriate level.

  • Ensure use of best practice, communication and understanding of key business messages.

  • Provide financial leadership and direction to finance managers within DCS around projects to help improves processes and reduce workload.

  • Use specialist knowledge and experience to provide insight and influence to impact performance standards

  • Onboard non dynamics and new entities to the target operating model for DCS from a financial and systems operations

  • Implement improvements, drive change, raise standards through the direct and indirect management of staff.

  • Fully comprehend the financial and commercial detail of major contracts to ensure optimal performance and risk management

  • Share knowledge and best practice across the company

  • Train non-finance staff in use of financial systems ensuring complete, consistent and accurate financial statements

Candidate Description

The successful person will hold CCAB approved accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with relevant experience gained in a similar environment. Strong management accounting and analytical skills are essential to the position together with a working knowledge of statutory reporting. The person should also be comfortable working with various reporting software and be highly proficient in producing detailed financial models and analysis to drive key management decisions. The person should have the skills to manage and develop the direct reports., This role requires a person, who has a strong customer focus, promotes team spirit, boosts morale and who subscribes to the Company ethos of continual improvement. It is likely to suit an individual who is self motivated, reliable, and professional. They should be able to exercise an attention to detail which will be paramount to delivering the required job performance levels. They should be experienced in time management in order that all tasks are correctly prioritised with skills in working to strict deadlines. The position also demands a strong communicator who will build relationships at various levels within the organization. Through these relationships the post holder will be confident enough to influence decisions and therefore performance in a pro-active manner.
