Finance Assistant Position The role requires collaborative working to produce timely, accurate and professional in-year finance reporting for the directorate, and the post holder will need to be confident in using financial systems. They will also need to champion financial awareness and financial management across the directorate. As a Finance Assistant , your main responsibilities would be: + Ensuring A(U)s / Grade 6s are clear on their allocated budgets and their responsibility for managing them; + Ensuring accurate budget information and forecasts are received and are correctly reflected on the financial systems; + Ensuring a smooth monthly reporting process which provides timely and accurate data to inform DCMS and CO reporting and awareness of emerging financial risks; + Challenging and scrutinising data to ensure actuals and forecast data submitted are robust and understood; + Providing excellent management information which enable budget holders to make informed decisions to manage their budgets; + Understanding the cost drivers, risks and issues inherent in the budget areas and how these might inform decisions + Communicating financial performance and management information for senior decision makers and advising on associated risks, pressures and potential underspends to non-financial audiences
- Have a good understanding of finance (monthly cycle, budgeting/forecasting etc.) + Cyber security PMO team. Look after budgeting and forecasting for Cyber security PMO team. Overall goal is not to over or underspend, have spreadsheets to make sure they track things accurately. + Part qualified - (ACCA/ACA/CIMA) + Accounts Assistant level + 2nd Finance role eg (Finance Analyst) + Google suite would be good + Be competent inside a spreadsheet (some basic formulae) + Excellent communication skills (absolutely crucial to be able to maintain relationships with programme and policy leads) If this Financial Assistant role sounds like something that you would be interested in, please click the link to apply and speak to one of our PSR team now.
