Job Description

  • Drive operational adoption of the HSE programmes, initiatives, and trial projects to improve HSE performance and achieve HSE account objectives

  • Be the client interface and focal point for HSE in EMEA and CH on the account and to support the client's teams in EMEA and CH to attain their operational objectives

  • Support site regional and site management teams to integrate HSE into their operations and, ensure they are provided with the tools and knowledge to achieve HSE success

  • Implement, manage, and review the Enterprise Accounts Strategic HSE Plan and apply to Novartis in conjunction with the EMEA/CH HSE Lead

  • Support and deliver the on-account HSE audit schedule and support with peer to peer and cross divisional auditing

  • Provide guidance and practical expertise on all matters related to Health, Safety and Environment, ensuring there is appropriate day-to-day support and guidance

  • Input to the development and maintenance of the training strategy for the account in collaboration with the Talent Coach team; support delivery of training, as required, so that appropriate standards of HSE competence are achieved and maintained

  • Promote and always maintain the values of the Company

  • Appoint and co-ordinate with account-based Safety Champions and liaise with central HSE resources as required

Candidate Description

  • Degree level education (or equivalent), formal qualification in HSE management. Practical application of auditing and significant and relevant post qualification experience

  • Incumbents must demonstrate a career showing continuous personal development in the related field of HSE

  • Upper managerial experience in HSE within a Pharmaceutical setting with experience of leading HSE across a regional platform in a large multi-national company

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Numerate with a high degree of computer literacy

  • Must possess demonstrable capacity to foster and maintain mutually beneficial professional relationships with stakeholders

  • Must be able to operate with integrity and authenticity

  • Able to contribute effectively and on equal terms across all business activities

  • Politically astute with a sound understanding of current issues

  • Incumbents must have a high level of energy, be self-starters, confident and stable in manner, and be able to prioritise and work on a range of activities within a high-pressure environment
