Job Description

As a Disclosure Officer within the Information Rights Team, you will support the Disclosure Manager by ensuring HM Land Registry is compliant with its legal obligations under information rights laws. You will process internal and external requests for recorded information received by the team, maintain accurate logs and compile statistical information to share with senior leaders and Cabinet Office. You will liaise with colleagues from across HMLR to compile relevant information and draft responses to Freedom of Information and data subject rights requests, ensuring quality responses are sent and relevant legal timeframes are adhered to. As a Disclosure Officer your main responsibilities would be: + Processing subject access requests for personal data and Freedom of Information requests for official information, including complex cases, complaints and ICO matters + Coordinating responses to data protection rights requests such as the right to erasure and the right to rectification + Understanding the needs of our customers and managing a personal caseload of information requests for internal and external customers + Providing personal data breach cover up until 5pm on specific days as part of a team rota + Logging requests for data sharing requests, and providing expert advice to internal customers to ensure quality standards of requests are maintained + Logging and triaging notifications of personal data breaches, and assisting, where appropriate, with any related investigations + Working with colleagues from across the organisation to gather information and draft responses in Plain English + Providing a high level of customer service, ensuring statutory deadlines are met + Delivering timely and high-quality support and assurance on information rights issues across HMLR + Collaborating on the design and implementation of information rights training for colleagues + Engage with relevant internal stakeholders to develop and drive a positive 'data protection by design and by default' culture + Participating in the management and response to security incidents involving personal data + Compiling statistical returns in relation to information rights matters + Creating and maintaining Information Rights SharePoint sites + Responding to internal reviews and ICO complaints specific to Freedom of Information requests and UK GDPR subject access requests

Candidate Description

You'll have relevant experience in: + Significant experience of responding to complex Freedom of Information and subject access requests including internal reviews and ICO correspondence + Applying FOI exemptions, including carrying out prejudice and public interest tests + Evidence of managing conflicting priorities and meeting demanding deadlines + Excellent written and oral communication skills + Track record of working on own initiative and as part of a wider team to achieve common goals + Experience of providing a quality service to customers + Excellent interpersonal skills + Experience analysing, assessing and interpreting information from a range of sources
