Reporting into the Team Manager you will be responsible for assisting in the convening and organising of Child Protection Conferences and Child in Care Reviews within a statutory framework and for providing wider business support to the Child Safeguarding and Quality Assurance team, ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the service.,

  • Organisation and Convening of Child Protection conferences and Child in Care Placement reviews, working both individually and as part of a team in high detail to ensure total accuracy in a sensitive environment.

  • Communicate with and develop good working relationships with a wide and diverse range of people, such as Senior Management, customers, key contacts and members of the public.

  • Ability to work to tight timescales and contributing towards Serco and our customer achieving statutory deadlines in regard to Child Safeguarding.

  • Adhoc administrative tasks including but not limited to data collation, data entry, report collation, dissemination of information, typing, completing letter templates.

  • Assist with the maintenance of filing systems, both electronic and manual to enable files to be accurately located.

Candidate Description

Child Protection work, by its nature, is very demanding, so previous experience working in the Police, Public Health, Child Safeguarding arena would be beneficial, however similar experience in other environments would certainly be considered. Full training will be provided to the successful candidate.,

  • Competent in using IT including Microsoft packages

  • Good organisational skills, working both individually and as part of a team in high detail to ensure total accuracy.

  • Excellent communication skills - you will be working with a wide and diverse range of people such a Senior Management, clients, key contacts and members of the public, this will include support in resolving queries.

  • Ability to prioritise and work to tight timescales

  • It would be beneficial to have some knowledge or experience of working within support services related to Safeguarding and experience of effectively engaging with people particularly by telephone and email.
