Job Description

As we continue to grow our global business Global Investment Partners an exciting opportunity has arisen for an Associate within our Global Portfolio Management team. The Associate function is a critical part of our operation. The primary role is the management of separate account client portfolios within the Portfolio Management team. The role is broad and offers the successful candidate an opportunity to be involved in various activities for multiple clients from day-to-day operations to the formulation of strategy. The successful candidate would be part of a Global Portfolio Management team and routinely engage with regional investment teams.,

  • The management of a number of Global mandates. This will involve portfolio construction, on-going monitoring of the portfolios and reporting to clients through production of quarterly reports and client presentations;

  • The candidate will be actively involved in preparing client investment plans and ensure that portfolios are positioned in accordance with market views and within the restrictions;

  • The candidate will be expected to actively respond to client requests;

  • The candidate will be required to have a thorough understanding of the forecast returns for individual holdings and maintain awareness of relevant issues that may impact portfolios;

  • Active participation in the review of investment proposals;

  • Take on an active role in fund monitoring

Candidate Description

  • Ability to prioritise and co-ordinate tasks efficiently ensuring all deadlines are met;

  • Accurate under time pressure and exceptional attention to detail;

  • Pro-active and enjoys working autonomously and as part of a wider team; and

  • Flexible approach to work and willingness/ability to travel.

  • Credible experience of working in an front office role for an institutional investment management firm

  • At least five years relevant industry experience that has been acquired in a real estate investment or investment management environment;

  • Excellent financial modelling and database skills;

  • Ideally degree educated and/or relevant experience and preferably have a relevant accounting, economics, finance, or real estate qualification;

  • CFA / CAIA qualification or desire to study toward this qualification; and

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing.

    Undergraduate degree required; postgraduate real estate masters preferred. A minimum of 5 years relevant industry experience that has been acquired in a real estate investment or real estate investment management environment. Professional qualification, RICS, CFA, ACA or equivalent FSA or equivalent Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers. Ability to effectively present information. High level of technical knowledge. Clear familiarity with the management of debt and financial reporting. Excellent financial modeling skills. Ability to think independently and draw key insights from relevant data. Effective problem solving skills. Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires advanced analytical and quantitative skills. Excellent IT skills; strong analytical and Microsoft Excel modeling skills - prior experience with commercial real estate discounted cash flow modeling. Excellent oral and written English language skills Decisions made with understanding of procedures and company policies to achieve set results and deadlines. Responsible for setting own project deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause short-term impact to co-workers and supervisor.
