We currrently have a vacancy for a Volvo Shovel Loader Driver to join our friendly team.
This role will see you carry out the loading of all waste materials in and out of the site, assist with traffic direction and efficient movement of vehicles on site, take responsibility for the daily inspection and reporting procedure of all plant vehicles prior to and on completion of use and maintain all appropriate paperwork relevant to the jobs (such as delivery notes, site diary, etc).
In addition to this, you will assist in segregating waste to ensure maximum recycling, direct users to use facilities in a safe way, inform users of the 'rules' of the transfer station, work as part of the team to assist with security duties and depot management duties where necessary, report regularly to line managers on progress of works and any matters that arise that affect the service delivery, attend team briefings, put forward suggestions and ideas for improvements to the service, contribute to the cleanliness of the transfer station, and most importantly, maintain excellent customer and client relations, especially when dealing with members of the public., Meaningful and vital work: Working within Environmental Services at Serco means that you'll play a critical role in ensuring that the communities we serve receive reliable waste management services.
First and foremost, you'll need to be an experienced Volvo Shovel Loader Driver with a valid licence and hold a full UK driving licence.
Basic IT skills are essential to the role, as well as the willingness to work as part of the team and undertake additional duties wherever necessary.
Experience of working on a transfer station is not essential, but would be an advantage.
This role would suit someone who is keen to develop their skills and take on additional training opportunities.
