An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Design, Space & Store Planning Team within ASDA, the team responsible for ensuring all our store plans are up to date & meet the ever changing demands of our customers. In this role, you will be supporting our implementation teams with data management and traiting (number processing and excel admin) to facilitate space change in line with programme deadlines, processing range changes & avoiding disruption to our customers & stores.

You will play a vital role in liaising with multiple stakeholders across our business to collate and provide accurate data, on time, with one eye always on process and efficiency. This is an opportunity to step into an ever-changing area of the Asda business, with opportunities to progress your knowledge of how change is delivered to achieve better stores for our colleagues to work in & our customers to shop in!, Reporting to the Operational Space Manager, the successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Take ownership of all programmed and non-programmed project administration and tracking.

  • Collate data requests and support the merchandising team with data queries and reports using a variety of sources/tools to collate range change overlays and programme updates across our stores.

  • Support store planning team with space change requests and advise on impact to the programme.

  • The candidate will liaise with merchandising to ensure all relevant information is shared in a timely manner and support the store planning team with new range build reporting.

  • They will maintain process guidelines and make changes to and develop new reporting as required.

  • They will support the creation and maintenance of new categories on the planning systems.

  • Identify and report on any range and data errors and escalate accordingly.

  • Propose developments within the area that lower operating costs or increase efficiency without compromising quality.

Candidate Description

  • Experience of working with spreadsheets and databases (potentially across multiple platforms) or as much Excel experience as possible (this could be in your current job role or as part of an analytically-based degree) and an aptitude for working with numbers.

  • A knowledge of store layouts and drawings (advantageous but not essential).

  • An understanding of merchandising and fixture implementation (advantageous but not essential).

  • To be a real team player; always happy to help your teammates where required and be flexible to the needs of the business. We're looking for someone who takes real ownership and pride in the work they do!

  • Be a confident communicator and the ability to present to a variety of stakeholders across all grades, email management will be a big part of this role.

  • Manage a varied and changing workload with competing priorities, to be able demonstrate ability or willingness to manage situations and last-minute changes.

  • Ability to prioritise and work cross functionally on concurrent projects, being organised is essential.

  • A passion for learning and driving your own development forward.

  • Ability to spot and act on business on opportunities, challenging the process to bring improvements but understanding each process step by step. This is an admin heavy role and accuracy is important.
