Job Description

Job objectives and responsibilities

  • Undertake the maintenance and repair on site at client location.

  • Carry out PPMs and any reactive works.

  • Provide response to emergency situations.

  • Assist in the undertaking of small project works and installations.

    Main duties

  • Provide support to others within the engineering team to ensure targets are met

  • Take a pro-active approach to client liaison in association with Engineering Services to ensure that concerns are dealt with or relayed to management as necessary

  • Ensure that service delivery meets the requirements of the SLAs as detailed in the main contract for M & E services

  • Assist in carrying out all customer requests ensuring the highest possible service delivery at all times and in accordance with contract SLAs

  • Ensure plant/equipment is in accordance with planned preventative guidance and schedules

  • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping when carrying out engineering tasks and duties.

  • Ensure administration requirements for paperwork are actioned on time in and all necessary documents/records are maintained accurately.

  • Assist in the repair of defective equipment effectively or recommend remedial action as appropriate

  • Assist in the carrying out of routine planned maintenance in accordance with Workplace central system

  • Understand and work within all H & S criteria and processes relevant to work activities - Safe systems of work / PPE/ COSHH/ Accident and incident reporting and show a proactive approach to H & S in the work environment taking necessary steps to ensure risks are mitigated

  • Assist in all PPM and reactive requests utilising the WPC system fully

  • Assist as required in critical systems management and maintenance, including power supplies, cooling, fire alarms, humidity controls

  • Escort M & E sub contractors providing support and guidance on all works

  • Provide cover for engineering team as required

  • Ad hoc duties as required

  • In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the job holder will be required to perform other duties assigned to him/her from time to time.

Candidate Description

Experience in either in the property/M&E industries

  • Experience in dealing with all types of Electrical installation and maintenance within the property and mobile services sector

  • Strong customer care focus

  • Good Health and Safety awareness and knowledge

  • Full and Clean driving Licence

  • Able to work at heights

  • Smart in appearance

  • Able to process Administration tasks associated with the role

  • Committed, reliable and flexible

  • Able to work as part of a team and to work on their own

  • High levels of communication skills

  • Full driving licence (endorsements will be taken into consideration)

  • Ability to managing challenging situations

  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances

  • Flexible enough to undertake duties to accommodate operational requirements

  • Literate in Microsoft application skills - outlook, word, excel

  • The ability to work alone or as part of a team.


  • Prior experience in Building Services or maintenance industry an advantage
