Job Description

You will work in a strategic engagement capacity with clusters and their programme teams to build support for and drive implementation of the strategy with a specific focus on the formation of shared service centres, which include Policy, Delivery, Overseas, Defence and HMRC-led. You will also be responsible for ensuring that the other strategy workstreams are reflected in stakeholder and engagement plans. You will act as the point of contact between GSS workstream leads and the clusters and develop materials to actively inform and support stakeholder engagement. As a Stakeholder and Relationship Specialist your main responsibilities would be: + Work across all aspects of the interface process required including stakeholders, third parties across 17 Government departments (across 5 cluster) associated with the portfolio to build consensus and drive delivery and maintaining effective communications with all stakeholders. + Identifying key stakeholders within the areas for local engagement and develop and maintain constructive, co-operative working relationships with key stakeholders to gain support for the directorate activities. + Developing a framework of good practice on stakeholder engagement and relationship management; Developing and delivering a local strategy. + Providing a principal point of contact for stakeholder enquiries relating to communications issues and provide signposting to other sources of help. + Proactively soliciting feedback and intelligence from stakeholders ensuring this is included in communications and policy planning and development. + Lead investigative work into problems and opportunities in existing processes, driving the collection of information and creation of recommendations for improvements. + Identify process optimisation opportunities with guidance and contribute to the implementation of proposed solutions. + Take accountability for issues that occur and are proactive in searching for potential problems. + Influence stakeholders and manage relationships effectively. + Take inputs and establish coherent frameworks that work. + Produce relevant reports in a standard format to an agreed timeframe. + Work within a strategic context and communicate how activities meet strategic goals.

Candidate Description

You'll have relevant experience in: + Have a proven track record engaging and communicating with stakeholders at all levels, with the ability to influence, challenge and collaborate across boundaries and in sensitive environments. + Well-developed communication skills, with the ability to understand and communicate complex ideas persuasively and efficiently through print, digital and spoken channels. + Understanding of how to effectively engage a range of audiences and manage risks + Demonstrated experience planning and supporting strategic communications campaigns.
