An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated Band 6 Specialist Dietitian who has an interest in working with people with Mental Health conditions, neuro rehabilitation and Learning Disabilities. We will also consider applicants who can be employed at Band 5. Part time hours can also be considered. The successful candidate will join the established Trustwide Dietetics Service within Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust. The team has 19 Dietitians providing 17.0 WTE, an Assistant Practitioner and a Clinical Support Assistant. The team has excellent links to multidisciplinary teams and nutrition and health promotion initiatives across the Trust. The successful candidate will work alongside an experienced Band 7 Dietitian into Walkergate Park which is a specialist neuro rehabilitation centre. The successful candidate will also cover some community work in Newcastle and Gateshead. Full support will be provided by experienced Band 7 Advanced Dietitians, as well as the other Band 6 Specialist Dietitians working in other specialist areas. All staff are actively encouraged to take part in the development of the Dietetics Service within the Trust as well as their specialist area including audit and promotion of the service through various events and initiatives. Your personal development is important to us and we will give you opportunity to learn and develop the skills needed to work with the patient group. The team have strong links with local universities and we take students from Teesside and Leeds Beckett Universities. We will also start to take students from Newcastle University as they start to come out on placement. All staff have a valuable role supporting the learning of our dietetic students'. It is essential you are registered as a Dietitian with the HCPC to be considered for this post.
