Job Description

Are you a user-centered, GDS experienced Senior Interaction Designer looking for a new contract opportunity? Are you experienced working within an agile environment? If so PSR would like to speak to you! As a Senior Interaction Designer, your main responsibilities would be: + To work with senior team members and external partners to deliver user experience activities including usability testing, interviews, surveys, ethnographic studies, and analytics + To synthesise insights from user research and testing to inform evidence-based prototypes and designs + To facilitate project workshops to uncover insight and build consensus + To champion user-centred design principles and best practice within UKRI + To balance user needs, technical complexity and risk in order to support the prioritisation of product roadmaps + To maintain expertise within Government Digital Service user research design patterns and standards and keep regular contact with key stakeholders in government to build good working relationships + To be part of a community of user experience members to share expertise and best practice across all UKRI digital services + To work collaboratively with agile working teams alongside business analysts, solution architects, developers and testers

Candidate Description

  • A background in design (preferably interaction or UX), either at degree level or with appropriate equivalent industry experience + Collaborating within an Agile environment, balancing user needs, business requirements and technical constraints + Working knowledge of GDS service design patterns and standards + Working within a User-Centered Design environment + Experience delivering Discovery, Alpha and Beta phases in multi-stakeholder environments + Experience - Pre-development into development processes - working in multi-disciplinary teams to ensure user feedback is iterated into the service + Experienced producing high quality UX outputs such as personas, user journeys, user flows, wireframes, mock-ups, designs, and prototypes + Usability and accessibility testing experience, including with Assisted Digital Needs groups, to continuously iterate ideas and designs
