Candidate Description

We are looking for a Scrum Master with significant, demonstrable experience of working in agile environments and using various tools, techniques and Agile methods/frameworks in cross functional teams. This combined with an understanding of more traditional project ways of working will help show the ability to work with teams in order to inspect and adapt and to successfully deliver change through our product and project delivery teams. A strong focus on Agile as a mind-set, balanced with a pragmatic value focused approach is essential to make sure we deliver the desired outcomes and benefits, anticipating and removing impediments and developing strategies to alleviate these as required. As we continue to develop our agile journey and capabilities you will be knowledgeable, enthusiastic and a proactive advocate in helping the broader adoption of Agile ways of working and the value it can bring to individuals and teams at DHSC. Essential Skills and Qualifications + Current Scrum Master Certification or equivalent + Good knowledge of Agile Frameworks (Scrum, Kanban) & techniques + Coaching the team and organisation on how to use Agile/Scrum practices + Proven experience as a Scrum Master working closely with software development/data & analytic teams + Expertise in the delivery of agile change, with exposure and experience of different techniques and delivery frameworks, i.e. Scrum, Kanban and/or other relevant ways of working. + A strong and demonstrable alignment to the agile values and principles, including a focus on transparency, inspection and the ability to adapt + Coordinate sprints, retrospective meetings, and daily stand-ups. + Coach team members in Agile frameworks and facilitate effective communication and collaboration. + Work with the product owners/stakeholders to handle backlogs and new requests + Help teams implement change effectively + Produce Reports, Metrics, and Dashboards that can be shared with senior management. These reports will include KPIs around the performance of the development team, lives issues, and key risks to project timelines. + Guide development teams to higher agile maturity by enhancing current practices + Help build a productive environment where team members 'own' the product and enjoy working on it + Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical business stakeholders. + Facilitating discussions, decision making, and conflict resolution.   • Excellent communication and influencing skills - verbal and written - with ability to liaise at all levels, including Board level

  • Ability to articulate vision, engage stakeholders, and provide technical leadership to deliver the vision.
