Role Purpose: Set-up, lead and manage a renewable energy service offering specific to the built environment. Focused on creating opportunities across existing and new clients to provide an end to end solution for renewable energy generating projects. Primarily focused to the UK, with occasional opportunities around the EU. Responsible for work winning, quality assurance, staff training and marketing. The position will provide a lead role for the energy consultancy team, with direct report to the Head of Energy Consultancy. Overview: Energy Consultancy is one of four service lines within Environmental Consultancy, which is one of six lines of business within CBRE Limited. Environmental Consultancy has a direct report to ExCo and the ability to influence change within the business. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES ? Advise clients in the scoping, analysing, designing, procuring, project managing and operating of renewable energy generating projects; ? Business case the results of the scoping exercise to the Client, in terms of return on investment, and other financial metrics; ? Produce and deliver grid connection business cases: understanding value of distribution assets and providing recommendations to clients on ownership of distribution assets, boundaries, and tariffs; ? Manage all aspects of the client relationship from project framing to delivery with the goal to maximise the potential for repeat business as well as protecting margins to ensure profitable growth; ? Participate in business development efforts, from client presentations to proposal developments and pitches; ? Supervise the work and development of junior team members; ? Build and maintain relationships with professional bodies as well as other industry partners and practitioners to stay abreast of technical and market developments; ? Contribute to the business's thought leadership, developing new ideas and research supporting service innovation; ? Enhance the exposure of the Energy Consultancy team in the built environment and further business development efforts by attending and/or speaking at industry events, conferences and other external engagements; and ? Communicate and collaborate across Environmental Consultancy, and wider CBRE business, to provide support on renewables and for other sustainability initiatives.
? Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering); ? 8+ years professional experience working in the scoping, design and delivery of renewable energy solutions; ? Ability to engage and educate a diverse set of stakeholder groups including project teams and design/construction/real estate professionals; ? Exceptional written and oral communication skills: articulate, assertive and confident; ? Detail-oriented: strong sense of commitment, a willingness to learn more and a desire to work in a dynamic, deadline-driven team environment; ? Proficiency in English; ? Proficiency in Office 365 environment, especially Microsoft Excel including VBA environment, Power BI and Tabloid; ? Experience and willingness presenting at conferences and forums; and ? Teaching and team management experience is ideal.
