This is an exciting opportunity to join our Compliance Continuous Improvement Team and be part of our Compliance programme, primarily supporting with the delivery of Asda's Compliance strategy.

This is a regional-based role with responsibility for approximately 60 sites across South Wales, Bristol and the surrounding area. You will work across retail, ALS and IPL sites where you will work with leadership and management teams to support the compliance culture; from implementation of Compliance standards through to incident investigation and managing regulatory contact. You will also execute a Compliance monitoring and coaching programme that drives continuous improvement in Compliance performance.

Currently, this role is also at the forefront of ensuring Asda's compliance with all related Covid-19 measures and controls.


  • Act as a regional principal point of contact on all compliance-related matters for our retail, ALS and IPL teams

  • Partner leadership teams to drive compliance culture and continual improvement in compliance performance

  • Coach and support managers on implementation of compliance policies and standards

  • Carry out site support visits and deliver compliance training

  • Conduct serious incident management and accident investigation

  • Manage regulatory contact and enforcement challenges

  • Monitor and audit compliance performance

  • Lead specific Compliance projects

Candidate Description

  • Located within the South Wales / Bristol / surrounding area

  • Ideally professionally qualified in health and safety, food safety or another relevant discipline

  • Enforcement/ regulatory/ commercial experience, preferably in the retail or logistics sectors

  • Experienced in coaching and influencing others both internally and externally, delivering tough messages and managing upwards

  • Excellent written, verbal communication skills and the ability to adapt outputs to an appropriate audiences

  • Adept at prioritising your own workload, flexing for planned vs. reactive workload and working independently

  • Strong coaching skills, enabler and advisor
