Here at Serco we're looking for a Psychological Services Administrator to join us at HMP Ashfield based in Bristol. This position will sit within the Interventions Team and involve the delivery of accredited programmes to assist prisoners to learn new skills to desist from offending. The successful candidate will be involved in the referral process and will therefore be part of weekly clinical meetings.
This role would be of interest to someone considering pursuing a career in criminal justice or forensic psychology. The post will provide the successful candidate with an understanding of the delivery of psychological treatment in a custodial setting so you will be involved in liaising with other professionals including the Probation Service, therefore good verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
The postholder will process programme referrals for individuals and checking they meet the criteria for suitability obtaining information from relevant databases. Liaise with relevant bodies informing of outcomes & progress chasing as required. You will also be responsible for organising, producing and maintaining accurate records for area of work as well as managing the sending and receiving of psychology files.
As part of this you'll:
Maintain prisoner folders for all programmes ensuring they are up to date and compliant with audit requirements.
Collate a list of up to date personal officers and offender supervisors and notify them all of participants in specific programme.
Co-ordinate the departments diary, reviewing and rearranging dates and appointments for course facilitators.
Arrange group member information and offer letters inviting Probation and family members to review hearing and send details to security where appropriate. Liaise with security to confirm all security clearance has been approved.
Inform the Offender Management team of course refusals/non selection so that they can update individual sentence plans and relevant reports.
Organise case reviews for relevant programmes and take minutes at relevant Case Reviews and any other meetings as required.
Collate regime monitoring figures from various sources onto CMS on a weekly basis to provide relevant management information.
Act as contact point for all communications to the team. Prioritise and distribute communications to the appropriate person or relevant department in establishment.
Correspond with relevant stakeholders and agencies to ensure that they are aware of information so that information is adequately shared.
Act as secretary to meetings as required including organising agenda, taking and distributing minutes and action points.
You will ideally have worked with offenders in some capacity, but this is not essential as all training will be provided. It would be advantageous if you have experience working with offenders in some capacity, managing cases where attention to detail is key and being able to assess security risks or threats would be highly desirable.
The successful applicant must be computer literate, able to work on their own initiative, approachable, organised and reliable. We are looking for someone that can communicate at all levels, build strong working relationships and be a successful part of an ever-growing team.
Previous administration work desirable, but not essential.
Need to hold a full driving licence.
