Job Description

As Project Manager, you'll lead a team to deliver optimal design solutions, coordinated with the Technology, Engineering and wider Operational teams. Leading, empowering and inspiring others to deliver a successful project(s) within the scope of the Operations Integrated Plan to time, cost, benefit and quality.

Identifying team development needs, you'll contribute to the knowledge and development plan - coaching and developing deployment teams/resource across the Operation to effectively deliver the project(s).

Leading and managing the engagement process with external suppliers, you'll help define and agree key requirements and deliverables to support the delivery of the project, including; design, build, test, deployment and handover to BAU phases. You'll liaise with key business functions such as Procurement, Finance and Technology to develop new supplier contacts, as well as contracts to support the development and delivery of business solutions. Utilising your exceptional interpersonal skills, you'll also manage, engage, communicate and consult with senior stakeholders across the portfolio - both internally and externally (e.g. Field Operations, Trade Unions, etc.).

Identifying, monitoring and managing risks and issues within the project(s), you'll work with sponsors, programme managers and other stakeholders to identify and deploy suitable mitigation. Leading on all governance arrangements for the delivery of the project(s), including managing the business protocols to secure investments, you'll ensure the mandatory project lifecycle is followed and effectively control all change requests.

Leading on financial and other resource allocation within the project(s), you'll optimise the return on investment and subsequently planning and controlling finances across the portfolio. In addition, you'll have responsibility for the production, consolidation and documentation of the fundamental components of a project(s) (scope, design schedule, resource requirements, budgets, risks, issues and quality).

Candidate Description

  • Strong experience in programme and project management tools and techniques.

  • Strong experience in process and operational design.

  • Ability to effectively manage and engage with external suppliers to ensure delivery of required solutions/support.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of design tools and techniques to deploy highly complex and interdependent designs within a live operational environment.

  • Knowledge and experience of working with Engineering, Procurement, Legal, Group Property, Commercial, Technology and/or external suppliers is beneficial.
