Job Description

  • Defining project scope and developing a project plan for each project including for specific workstreams. Tracking progress against the plan and actively managing changes. + Commissioning external resources from a series of advisory contracts and managing these resources to ensure they deliver required outputs on time, to budget and to an agreed standard of work. + Identifying risks and issues for projects and ensuring they are actively managed. + Contributing to the generation of regular project reports + Lead the day-to-day planning activities, risk management, coordinating schedules, tasks and dependencies; + Manage information and prepare reports and presentations for Project/Programme Boards etc + Effective management of relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders; + Ensure there is appropriate adherence to corporate governance and assurance and that commercial and procurement control is adequately exercised + Implement effective risk and issue management and promoting a positive risk management culture within the team.

Candidate Description

You'll have relevant experience in: + Managing Projects with a HIGH level of complexity i.e. have a high degree of uncertainty, are large in size, politically sensitive, technically complex, have a large number of stakeholders and often need procedures and methodologies to be adapted to suit unique situations. + Developing Business Cases (5-Case model) + Working in central government + Delivering procurements + Engaged with internal/external stakeholders to identify the main issues, risks and generate solutions to ensure a project/programme was delivered in a timely manner and within budget. + Worked collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders to achieve commitment to shared goals in a changing environment. + Balanced policy aspiration and delivery outlined risk and benefits of different options to achieve value for money ensuring all submissions contain appropriate financial information. + Experience of successfully delivering complex projects. + Knowledge and understanding of planning and project management tools and techniques. Experience of engaging with and influencing stakeholders at all levels. + Budgeting and Cost Management + Risk and issue management + Stakeholder engagement
