The role being applied for will be dedicated to the Lloyds Banking Group account and will be site based in Peterborough to Project Manage a £3m Physical Security upgrade at a Datacentre., The successful candidate will report to the Senior Manager for Capital Projects. The role is advertised as a fixed contract to be renewed every 6 months. The specific project duration is expected to last between 12-18 months. On completion of the project there is a possibility the role could become permanent if the opportunity arises.
The Mitie LBG Projects team delivers a wide array of 'Reactive' and 'Planned' projects for Lloyds Banking Group Programmes and Portfolios, typically relating to the building Facilities, Construction, Fabric and Plant infrastructures.
Nationwide travel including the offshore British Isles and Northern Ireland may be required along with occasional meetings with the central team in Leeds. The successful candidate must be willing to travel, which on some occasions will be a short notice to meet the clients requirements.
The Project Delivery Manager's key responsibility will be to oversee the management of a portfolio of projects, working closely with Project Managers and Quantity Surveyors to ensure that projects are being delivered to robust governance procedures and policies, whilst ensuring Value for Money for the client.
The Project Delivery Manager will be responsible for overseeing and planning all aspects of work to ensure successful and quality delivery, within the time and budget constraints of the client and end user, whilst ensuring all projects are delivered within the constraints and guidelines set out by the Governing Bodies and Regulations for Construction works.
The successful candidate will be working closely with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, as well as having a close working relationship with the client stakeholders. The role of the Project Delivery Manager will play a key role in demonstrating and promoting our Delivery capabilities to our client and stakeholders in the LBG Delivery Model to contribute to our continual growth.,
Project Management - Management of your own Projects whilst also providing Governance and Delivery support to Project Managers for a portfolio of projects where the Project Delivery Manger has been assigned as the 'Point of Contact'.
Business Case - Develop and present Business Cases to the Senior Manager for Capital Projects to enable consideration for investment from the Client.
Tendering - The Project Delivery Manager will support the Mitie Projects central team and QS Team on tender bids, ensuring that compliant Contractors Proposals meet the requirements of the Works Enquiry and are submitted to the Tenderer in the timeframe agreed.
Funding Requests - The Project Delivery Manager will be responsible for producing Funding Requests/Spend Approval forms for submission to the client and ensure client Purchase Orders are received in a timely manner so not to affect the timescales of the project.
Initiation - The Project Delivery Manager will be responsible for ensuring all, System Records (MiWorld, SharePoint and Omnia), Project Folders and Documentation required for the Project is in place, stored in the correct folders and managed throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring updates are available in line with KPI's.
Pre-construction - The Project Delivery Manager will produce or work with the Project Manager to ensure pre-construction plans are in place. Your duties will include being responsible for ensuring Formal CDM Appointments are in place prior to works commencing onsite. You will be expected to undertake the role of Principal Designer where you can demonstrate the right level of competency through SKET (Skills, Experience and Training) for the Project Design, undertaking Design Risk Assessments and liaising with the dedicated QHSE Team for Mitie Technical Services Projects. You will be responsible for ensuring a Principal Contractor is formally appointed, Construction Phase Plans are produced/reviewed prior to any works commencing onsite, can demonstrate the competencies to carry out the works to required quality and safety requirements and are fully aware of their CDM duties under the role of Principal Contractor.
Construction/Delivery - During the Construction/Delivery phase of the project the Project Delivery Manager will ensure (or work with the Project Manager) to ensure all pre-start meetings have been held and minutes taken place prior to work commencing on site. You will be responsible for ensuring the project is compliant to CDM regulations and Mitie's QHSE policies and guidelines throughout the project, which will require occasional visits to the work site. You will monitor the performance of the project by tracking progress on site and that the works are being delivered to plan and on schedule. You will report any deviations from plan to the Senior Manager for Capital Projects and you will manage any valid extensions of time variations and with the QS Team and ensure any associated costs are recoverable and client purchase orders amended.
Variations - During all stages of the project the Project Delivery Manager and Project Manager will be made aware of any variations for an extension of time or additional works from the Principal Contractor and will work with the QS team to validate and seek client approval for the variation before works are carried out, and only by exception ensuring Mitie can recoup any costs by seeking appropriate client approval if works need to be carried out immediately as a benefit to the client or pose a Health & Safety risk.
Financial Management - The Project Delivery Manager will be responsible for the managing the Project accounts for their Portfolio of projects. Mitie operate a fortnightly billing cycle with LBG and therefore the Project Delivery Manager will be responsible for the submission of interim payment applications and Final Accounts in this process. You will be responsible for ensuring all payment applications are submitted on time to the QS and Central Team and they have been checked to align with the completion of the project before being processed for invoicing.
Health & Safety Management - Health & Safety is paramount to Mitie and a key responsibility in the role of a Project Delivery Manager. The Project Delivery Manager will be responsible for ensuring the project is compliant to CDM 2015 regulations and may take on the duties of Principal Designer for the project and will therefore need to ensure where they do not have the competency to perform the role for specific projects that Mitie is protected through ensuring the role has been formally appointed to a competent person to ensure Mitie's responsibilities are fully covered. You will liaise with Mitie Projects QHSE team to ensure that projects are always compliant to their policies and procedures throughout the project lifecycle. You will be responsible for ensuring the Project will pass QHSE audits by ensuring that all required documentation is available and accessible in the central SharePoint repository for the project.

MUST have experience of Managing Projects in Datacentre and Critical environments.
Be able to demonstrate a minimum of 5 years' experience of Managing Projects, preferably in a Facilities Management or Construction environment.
Hold a formally industry recognised qualification in Project Management or Construction Management.
Have an excellent understanding of the stages and requirements under the RIBA Plan of Work model.
Hold an active Membership for APM, CIOB, IEE, CIBSE or BIFM [Desirable]
Have an excellent understanding of Construction Design & Management 2015 (CDM 2015) regulations and Duty Holder responsibilities for the role of the Client, Principal Designer and Principal Contractor.
Have an excellent understanding of Best Practices and requirements for Construction Works defined by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).
Hold a Technical Qualification (H.N.D. or Degree Qualified]
Must be able to demonstrate a good technical understanding of Facilities Management, Building Construction and Critical Building Plant & Infrastructure.
Must be able to demonstrate a good understanding of Quantity Surveying, Contract Management, Dispute resolution and the skills required for quantifying and Scheduling of Works.
Have an excellent understanding and can demonstrate experience in the Tendering for works.
Must be able to demonstrate good knowledge and understanding of the Governing Bodies and Regulations for Building and Constructions works, Building Regulations etc.
Be competent in the use of MS Project and MS Office, including SharePoint (Office 2010 or Office 365).
Be able to demonstrate good knowledge of Quality Management Procedures and Best Practices.
Be able to communicate effectively at all levels including Senior Management level.
Be able to demonstrate strong verbal and electronic presentation skills.
