Production Area Manager

Are you a people-focussed water industry professional looking for the next step up in your career?

We’re looking for a driven, capable and proactive leader to manage our Production sites in Surrey.

Your next role

As Area Manager, you’ll provide area level leadership across production operations, taking ownership of all aspects of operational delivery and supporting your frontline teams to achieve key performance objectives.

You’ll use your effective planning, scheduling and workload management skills to ensure resource is optimised in your area, whilst having accountability when it comes to water quality, H&S, maintenance and security.

Effective people management is crucial and so you’ll be a people person who’s ready to set a great example to your teams by embodying the company’s five Principles: Be proactive, Make it easy, Show you Understand, Do what you say you will, Show you Care.

In this highly visible role, you’ll be happy working collaboratively with teams across the business, acting as the ‘go-to’ person for your production area.

What do you need?

You’ll come from a water/wastewater or broader utility industry background and have sound technical knowledge of water production and treatment processes on site. Using your technical expertise, you’ll work closely with frontline teams to identify and facilitate change initiatives in your area – driving efficiencies and improving productivity.

Leading a team of professional colleagues isn’t always easy but you’ll be ready to manage, support and motivate your team of Technicians and Operatives through engaging and informative management, plus individual performance monitoring and 1-2-1 check in’s.

Challenges will face you head-on in this fast-paced environment and so you’ll be able to prioritise your workload and react decisively under pressure to maintain operational performance.

As the service you'll provide is essential to the customer, you'll be comfortable participating in a standby rota to ensure someone's always on call if there's an incident or emergency. It's all part of your outstanding service.

You’ll need a full UK driving licence to travel between sites.

What's in it for you?

The work you'll do is essential for Affinity Water to deliver clean, safe drinking water to over 3.6 million customers every day. In return, you’ll be rewarded with a competitive holiday allowance that increases with length of service, plus the option to buy up to 5 additional holidays to make sure you’re getting the well-deserved down time you need.

We’ll also provide you with a double-matching pension scheme and will support the cost of your professional fees to help you get to where you want to be. So the longer you stay, the more you gain.

Got what it takes?
