Job Description

  • Best value for money for every pound that Mitie spends, achieving annualised and in-year savings targets

  • Improvement in supplier cost and service levels through delivery of a wide range of Procurement projects with and excellent service levels to colleague in Procurement

  • Day to day application of Mitie First so internal provision maximised in appropriate categories

  • Demonstrable application of agreed procurement policies, procedures and approach, using agreed technology, highlighting improvement areas and potential fixes through the Solutions Forum

  • An outstanding service provided to all Procurement, Functional leads and BU stakeholders


  • Engage with stakeholders & suppliers to optimise procurement delivery. Specific tasks include: + Work with the Senior Procurement colleagues to execute the agreed procurement strategy + Work independently within a project structure to own and deliver: bid support; the full sourcing cycle; effective & good value supplier contracts; client contract mobilisations; supplier audits; price reviews; procurement communications; and other Procurement-related activity as required. + Deliver work on a project basis using approved processes to: accurately track project delivery; ensure on time delivery with full benefits; manage risk; and highlight workload and capacity constraints. + Support the development of new technologies and processes to continually improve Mitie's procurement strategy, capability and delivery + Maximise value delivery for Mitie and its customers in all work. + Actively increase engagement across the procurement operations team and support the personal & career development of all members of the team + Implement initiatives improving Mitie's ethical and sustainable sourcing credentials + Prepare & execute RFx/eRFx/eAuctions, centrally capture all contracts, and promote the use of Preferred suppliers across Mitie + Support Mitie's Supplier Relationship Management program, including the management of key suppliers within that framework. + Support engagement and procurement strategy improvement groups + Help to improve Procurement Net Promoter Score through positive activity to support the business and by addressing feedback from internal (& external) customers + Demonstrate excellent operational procurement knowledge and application to their team + Align communication with the procurement strategy, operating model and key priorities

Candidate Description

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent professional experience / qualifications

  • A track record in operational procurement delivery and working as part of a team

  • First class interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

  • Able to demonstrate the ability to influence, challenge and negotiate with wide range of knowledgeable clients, suppliers and colleagues

  • Excellent operational procurement experience and, for people management roles, experience of this

  • Knowledge of sourcing methodologies, SRM, contracting & negotiation

  • Hands on experience of delivering bottom line cost savings in a complex environment


  • MCIPS qualified, or working towards

  • Been involved in major transformation and change programs within Procurement
