The purpose of the Procurement Function is to create and deliver sustainable value through brilliant and responsible procurement, enabling the business to invest in the future and improve the lives of our customers and team members around the world. The role will include:

  • The opportunity to work cross-divisionally with colleagues, stakeholders and suppliers globally.

  • Leading sourcing and tender activities, evaluating supplier options, managing commercial negotiations and recommending solutions.

  • Managing and connecting multiple, internal and external stakeholders to operate collaboratively and deliver complex projects.

  • The opportunity to travel while working with different business areas and suppliers.

  • Deliver cost savings to the business through supplier negotiations, contract management and spend analysis.

  • Project managing work-streams and initiatives within the category to ensure timely delivery of objectives and adherence with policy and processes.

  • Identifying, exploring and developing new procurement approaches and ways of working.

  • The opportunity to train towards and obtain a professional qualification in procurement.

Candidate Description

  • Must be on track or have achieved a 2:1 (or higher) in your degree within the last 3 years

  • Strong communication skills at multiple seniority levels with the ability to utilise this to foster collaborative relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Tenacity, creativity and a keen problem solver, who can navigate complexity.

  • A motivated individual who has a strong entrepreneurial mentality with the ability to translate that into a team environment

  • The capability to excel in a fast paced work place environment with the capacity to manage multiple complex projects while maintaining a clear result orientated focus

  • A strong analytical mindset with a natural ability to clearly interpret data and the skill to articulate the story behind these findings

  • Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Office, Excel and Word

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop their commercial and leadership skills within a high performing Procurement team within a truly global organisation operating in over 25 countries led by our Chicago-based Chief Procurement Officer. The team manage a range of categories including Technology, Marketing Services, Professional Services, and Logistics with a total spend of $7bn per annum. The UK based team is formed of a Category Procurement team for Goods Not for Resale (GNFR) who report to a Head of Category Procurement and is comprised of c.30 professional Procurement Managers, and a Procurement Transformation and Development team.
