Job Description

This newly created role will report directly to a Senior Portfolio Accountant, working alongside the existing team and working predominantly on Global separate accounts. The role of a Portfolio Accountant will be to support the day-to-day accounting and operations for their client portfolios, as well as assist with the monthly, quarterly and annual reporting cycle of their client portfolios within this indirect property business.,

  • Accounting and preparation of investor reporting (monthly, quarterly and annual) for 2-3 segregated large account clients

  • Preparation of investment and cash reconciliations

  • Assisting with cash monitoring, including helping to prepare client drawdowns and to prepare for underlying fund drawdown payments

  • Calculate and instruct foreign currency trades for exposures relating to segregated accounts

  • Contacting underlying fund investments to obtain up-to-date prices

  • Performance analysis & valuation of investments and client accounts

  • Updating records & systems to account for AUM, transactions, fees billable, reconciliations etc

  • Review the administrators' reporting

  • Raise client invoices and monitor for timely payment

  • Preparation of ad-hoc financial analysis

  • Liaison with internal teams, external clients and service providers

  • Assisting in KYC & preparation for prospective clients

  • Assisting investment team on deal support, including operational due diligence.

  • Compliance with internal controls

  • Adhoc project work such as YARDI system developments

Candidate Description

  • ACA / ACCA newly qualified

  • Prior experience with Big Four or mid-tier accountancy firm, or experience at a real estate or private equity at a fund manager or through audit experience preferred

  • Strong financial control and analytical skills are essential

  • Good problem-solving, excellent attention to details and strong excel skills are essential

  • Proactive and able to organise your own work and schedule, with ability to meet deadlines

  • Team player - able to work effectively and collaboratively within a small dedicated team but also with the external service providers (ie. administrators)

  • Ability to prioritise and work across multiple mandates
