Here in the Serco Workforce Solutions team we're responsible for hiring people that deliver essential public services in defence, transport, justice, immigration, healthcare and citizen services. And as our new People Operations Manager you'll help us find, recruit, and manage a team of temporary staff across our West Midlands region.
Working with your team and your internal stakeholders, you'll ensure that the correct volume of staff is deployed for work - and that they have the training, skills and experience needed to do a great job. This will involve you developing and executing long term recruitment plans that will help us meet our KPI's, as well acting as a point of escalation for both temp staff and internal client queries. In short, you'll deliver an outstanding level of service whilst keeping Serco's values at the core of everything you do.

What you need to do the Job
In this role you'll be managing up to 2 direct reports, so you'll naturally be highly interpersonal with experience in people management, with the ability to delegate effectively when required. You'll be able to encourage them and help them achieve their potential.
As you're working with internal clients you'll also need excellent stakeholder management skills and a proven ability to develop and manage difficult complex stakeholder relationship at all levels.
Having worked in recruitment before you'll no doubt be used to managing multiple activities at a time and be in possession of strong organisational skills. You'll also have excellent presentation skills and be comfortable with delivering to senior management and operational teams.
Lastly, at Serco we use Microsoft applications day-to-day, so you'll be no stranger to Powerpoint, Outlook and Excel - and you will definitely know where the mute button is on teams., Serco supports fair access to employment for those with unspent criminal convictions through the 'Ban the Box' pledge (some may be exempt due to the nature of the role and the security clearance required).
