At PSR we are the go-to place for talented contractors and temps for a rich variety of public sector roles. We are currently recruiting for an Operations Manager for a Government Organisation. Role Background: Working within the Warehousing & Operations team you will help deliver and drive exceptional operational efficiency, working across all of the nominated 3PL Supply Chain functions You will assist with identifying, designing, delivering and ongoing development of performance measures and provide regular analysis and insight on progress and opportunities. Where needed, provide rigorous analysis to challenge, develop and improve key relations with the third-party service provider and champion improvement in service by implementation of key performance measures. This is an 24/7, 365 days a year operation. This role holder will need to work within that context. The Key Responsibilities of the Operations Manager will be to: + Build a strong working relationship with the 3PL warehouse service provider. Identify the 3PL opportunities for continuous improvement. + Ensure the 3PL generates opportunities to reduce the cost base with no adverse effect on service. Regularly attend daily / weekly calls with third party providers to identify operational issues that require improvement. Create a culture of continuous improvement in routing, scheduling and warehousing activities to ensure cost down targets are met. + Identify and resolves issues and risks that pose a threat to the successful delivery of the production plan. + Investigate the 3PL Warehouse Management System and guide to generate key reporting structure to support the NTP. + Lean in to the inbound process to ensure an efficient put away, with all necessary checks and data input into the WMS operates as a seamless process. + Ensure inventory is maintained accurately within the WMS and drive perpetual inventory counts. + Ensure the outbound process is efficient and that the schedule is met at all times, without short shipments.

Candidate Description

  • Exposure and experience within Supply Chain & Operations. + Experience of driving high performance. Establishes clear, challenging and achievable objectives. + Aligns resources and organisation within own area of responsibility to achieve objectives. Regularly reviews and communicates progress against objectives and adjusts as needed. Champions continuous improvement and innovation. Inspires results and respect by empowerment, accountability, recognition and rewards. + Proven leadership skills & expertise in conflict resolution + Analytical and strong organizational skills, with excellent verbal and written ability + An understanding Project Initiatives and key drivers. + WMS Experience and knowledge. Education / Qualification / Certification + Preferable, educated to university degree level or equivalent professional. + Vocational Qualifications in Warehousing and Outbound distribution procedures.
