Come join us! Mitie Landscapes has a new and exciting national technical training manager role, within the operational division.
You will be responsible for training and developing our frontline technicians to ensure they are competent in carrying out their activities.
We are seeking an energetic and valued contributor, who can encourage, motivate and develop our frontline teams through on the job technical training in the field, as well as online training modules.
This role will support the operational teams in 'delivering the exceptional everyday' for our clients.

To design, develop, implement and evaluate an organisation wide training and development plan;
Update the training matrix detailing required modules in support of career development and progression plans;
To develop and directly deliver the following internal training, face-to-face and online: + Horticultural modules to upskill current grounds maintenance operatives + Machinery training (such as lawnmowers, strimmers, leaf blowers, brush cutters, winter gritters etc) + Train the Trainer to our team of internal trainer-supervisors
Work with L&D HRBP to support the apprenticeship strategy;
To have an understanding of e-learning techniques, and where relevant, being involved in the creation and/or delivery of e-learning packages;
To review the content of the Mitie LMS to ensure that the training modules contained on the system are appropriate;
To ensure that training records are kept up to date and accurately reflect the achievements of all staff, both on the Mitie LMS and Landscapes records system;
When planning training to consider the financial budget to ensure an appropriate return on the investment of any training or development programme;
To develop and agree an annual training budget and manage training spend within this budget;
To assist in solving specific training requirements. e.g. the provision of refresher training;
Support in the mobilisation of new contracts through training;
Oversee all necessary training administrative processes and paperwork to ensure we are compliant;
To undertake the appraisal of training effectiveness - evaluating the success of both individual training and the overall training and development plan.
Develop positive working relationships with the Landscapes team and other key stakeholders;
Provide advice, guidance and support to Landscapes team where required;
Develop and maintain effective working practices with external providers;
Manage and promote the health and safety for all in accordance with the H&S policy, taking action to remedy any identified problems and working in a way which minimises risk.,
Follow Group and company policies and procedures at all times;
Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment;
Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received;
Report any issues or training needs to your Line manager and /or via your divisional incident reporting system;
Ensure compliance with Mitie's information security procedures in all activities;
Proactively identify and report security risks to your manager;
Report actual and suspected security incidents

Previous training management and training delivery experience, preferably gained within a commercial landscaping environment
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint
Ability to multi-task, work to deadlines, prioritise under pressure and use own initiative
Ability and confidence to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
Excellent organisational and administrative skills
Team player and process-oriented
Flexible and adaptable
High level of confidentiality
Tact and diplomacy
Ability to work accurately, with attention to detail
A full UK driving licence
Previous line management experience
eLearning authoring tools (Articulate Storyline)
Training experience certifications (HND, ND in Horticulture)
