Where there is a specialist trade, the role also supports non-trade Maintenance Operatives (MO's) to fix faults. The role requires close working relationships with the housing teams to ensure outstanding service to the users. This is a role which requires excellent organisational skills due to the variety of accountabilities which also include the following:

To check all relevant property reports before undertaking works in the properties (e.g. asbestos, dangerous persons,) or request additional reports if deemed appropriate by the MO (e.g. structural report, asbestos survey / test etc.)
Where requested, be the site liaison for all stakeholder parties with an interest in the property e.g. Landlords, Local Authorities, Home Office, to provide maintenance support
Liaison with external sub-contractors to ensure access can be obtained, works are completed to agreed standards and the sub-contractors' operatives are approved

At Serco we support fair access to employment for those with unspent criminal convictions through the 'Ban the Box' pledge (some may be exempt due to the nature of the role and the security clearance required). Please contact our recruitment team directly on 0345 010 4000 to discuss.
