Lead, develop and performance manage the department training managers to create a high performing team of learning professionals capable of delivering high quality, consistent learning to our operational teams and recruits. The execution of the responsibilities, of the role to ensure a first-class training package is delivered.
Provide day to day line management and guidance to trainers and provide coaching, feedback and performance management as required.
Build and maintain strategic partnerships and internal/external relationships with our client, with an emphasis on internal collaboration with all departments, building our skills provision through partnership approach across the team.
To construct and deliver a training package that excels, is dynamic, flexible and adaptable in its approach, that ensures our future security officers receive a first-class training package that enables them to deploy better prepared than ever before, by utilising technology and innovative training methods.
Our training must be current with evolving risk and threats, it will be influenced by timely and accurate information from across the Nuclear security sector. It will comply with the quality and standards of Mitie Group, our client, and appropriate external agencies.
Liaison with other department Managers across Mitie Group to ensure service delivery exceeds client and Mite Group expectations.
Demonstrate a willingness to learn from experience and motivate others to develop/grow the teams' specific knowledge and skills.
To deliver results for their identified area that meets or exceeds the budget and service delivery requirements through full responsibility and accountability for:
To develop and deliver training improvements for your area of responsibility.
Efficient and effective use of training resources to ensure training delivery is optimal.
Problems solving, provide solutions, support the Head of Operations.
Drive the evaluation and improvement cycle of training output across the client's estate.
Create learning curriculums providing a mixture of learning styles including online and in-person training to maintain the desire to learn and engage the learner. Ensure best practice and consistent approach to training across the team.
Work in partnership with stakeholders and service providers on the development and implementation of CGF strategic L&D and people plan Deliver training as required, leading by example, and driving the team's performance.
Ensure training records are maintained accurately and in a timely manner.
To provide effective leadership and training for the site training Team and to conduct regular on the job assessments of all site trainers (AET/ADT's), to ensure quality and consistency of the training being delivered is at the correct standard.
To carry out other duties as required by the Head of Operations.
To assess operational training needs, plan and execute delivery of training, measure and evaluate the effectiveness of the training.
Maintaining an understanding of new educational and training techniques and methods.
Actively participate in CGF changes to promote best practice and collaboration across the team.
Track training progress to ensure effectiveness and identify learning gaps.
Monitor all absence and provide assurance checks that absence managements guidance and procedures are always followed.
Health & Safety Responsibilities
Follow Group and company policies and procedures at all times.
Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment
Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received
Report any issues or training needs to your Line manager and /or via your divisional incident reporting system.
Experienced L&D professional in a commercially focussed environment.
Ability to provide challenge and support in a constructive way in order to influence, establish trust and seek constructive outcomes across all levels
Effective team player and leader with strong communication skills.
Previous experience of writing and delivering training materials
Strong capability in the use of technology and leaning styles to manage and deliver training
Resilient, with ability to influence key decision makers and challenge when necessary.
Good attention to detail, diligence.
Excellent organisation, time and self-management skills
Strong presentation skills
Ability to create a positive learning environment
An excellent trainer and presenter,
Previous Security Experience (desirable, not essential)
Minimum of Level 4 qualification in training and education
Experience of multi-site, multi-discipline organisations
Customer Service experience (beneficial)
Full UK driving licence is advantageous
SC Clearance (Desirable)
