The Lead Information Support Assistant (Lead ISA) role is a secondary level position within the Defence Academy Information Management structure. Working within the 'iHub' as part of a friendly, motivated, energetic and supportive team the role of the Lead ISA is to undertake information management and information assurance duties, which brings together a unique blend of customer service, information administration, user support and software exploitation, within a varied and agile environment. The 'iHub' is the point of contact for all information management and assurance activities, and the Lead ISA is a key role in this customer support environment. The Lead ISA will also undertake additional and specific skilled tasks, including: ordering of services and equipment through MOD approved supplier catalogues, scrutinising such requests for compliance and ensuring value for money by offering alternate solutions where they are more cost effective, providing assistance to the Information Support Officer, and deputising where required, assisting the customer in completion of Data Protection Impact Assessments, offering routine advice on IM, Data Protection and other compliance issues, auditing of physical and electronic assets, induction training and coaching and mentoring for Information Support Assistants, allocation of work within the team, development of departmental work instructions, and the design and management of file plans.

What you need to do the job
The ideal candidate will be a problem solver, be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, have an interest in and aptitude for working with technology and an above average level of IT literacy. Prior experience of working within an Information Management specialist role or within an iHub is essential. 12 months experience within an iHub or similar IM environment is highly desirable. Completion of the MOD Information Support Officer (ISA) and Records Manager (RecMan) courses. Previous experience in creation and management of Microsoft 365 collaborative tools and environments (including the build of Sharepoint sites). You should have above average level of IT/IS literacy, including MS Office/M365.
