  • The position is responsible for providing a range of Laboratory Instrument Services at site. The role will include, but is not limited to,Ensuring that Planned & Reactive Maintenance is completed within the specified time-frames and in accordance with the specified requirmentsUndertaking Planned & Reactive Maintenance of HPLC & GCCoordination & scheduling of 3rd party vendorsControl of contractors in respect of 3rd party engineers ie "meet & greet"Ensuring documentation and records are kept up-to-date and in compliance with site requirementsEnsuring compliance with Quality Standards Planned Maintenance

  • Scheduling Planned Maintenance activity for self perform ie HPLC & GC Maintenance

  • Ensuring that Planned Maintenance is scheduled to be completed in-line with SLA and KPI requirements Reactive Maintenance

  • Ensuring that Reactive Maintenance is responded to for self perform ie HPLC and GC in-line with SLA and KPI requirements

  • Ensuring minimal downtime of instruments Contractor Management

  • Liaising with 3rd party vendors with respect to scheduling of planned & reactive maintenance works

  • Supporting supply chain to ensure that service provider terms and conditions are correct and in-line with site and equipment servicing requirements

  • Monitoring and reporting on 3rd Party vendor performance against agreed KPIs

  • Ensure contractors are cleared for site access, via vetting, induction, health questionare, etc.

  • Ensure appropriate RAMs are in place

  • Ensure Permits are issued where required Health & Safety

  • Ensure all appropriate RAMS are in place prior to commencing tasks on equipment

  • Conducting Safety Walks/GEMBAs to support wider team

  • Ensuring 3rd party engineers are working safely and in accordance with RAMS provided Quality & Compliance

  • Maintenance of the Equipment list (Asset list) to ensure it is up-to-date at all times

  • Maintaining a high-level of GDocP in accordance with site procedures

  • Ensuring Procedures are current and compliant with site requirements

  • Conducting L1 audits in support of the wider team

  • Being available to support audits as required Other Duties

  • The Instrument Support Specialist will be required to work flexibly, to encompass any urgent or unanticipated needs arising for increases or decreases in plant production schedules,

  • Responsible for routine & non-routine maintenance of HPLC & GC in accordance with clients process and validation requirements

  • Maintenance of the Equipment list (Asset list) to ensure it is up-to-date at all times

  • All maintenance carried out within the scheduling window and in accordance with SLA & KPI requirements

  • Control of contractors under the LIS Scope

  • Maintaining 100% in MyLearning,

  • Follow Group and company policies and procedures at all times;

  • Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment;

  • Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received;

  • Report any issues or training needs to your Line manager and /or via your divisional incident reporting system; Information Security

  • Ensure compliance with Mitie's information security procedures in all activities;

  • Proactively identify and report security risks to your manager;

  • Report actual and suspected security incidents; Note This job description Is intended to give the post holder an appreciation of the role envisaged for this position and the range of duties undertaken. Candidate Description

  • Educated to degree level in a science or engineering subject (preferably chemistry)

  • Enthusiastic, hard working and shows willing

  • Can perform under pressure and independent of supervision

  • Works well as a team

  • Experience of working within a laboratory, GxP environment (preferred)

  • Attention to detail & capability to work methodically to strict processes and procedures
