Collection and correct disposal of clinical, domestic and recycling waste in line with Trust policies and procedures whilst ensuring the security, cleanliness and tidiness of all external waste handling / storage areas, some of which may be hazardous.
Collection / delivery of equipment and furniture to / from any location within the hospital. Undertakes any ad-hoc duties as directed by the supervision and management team.
Reports any safety deficiencies, incidents, near misses, ill health and environmental incidents to their manager.
Ensures company safety arrangements and procedures are followed always. Brings any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided to the attention of the Manager
Complies with standards as set up in the company procedures and through training delivered.
Undertakes additional duties as required by their supervisor in line with capabilities.
Communicates effectively with all the teams to ensure there is a seamless way of working across the contract.
Brings to life the Mitie values daily and demonstrates the exceptional everyday.,
Follow Group and company policies and procedures at all times;
Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment;
Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received;
Report any issues or training needs to your Line manager and /or via your divisional incident reporting system;
Ensure compliance with Mitie's information security procedures in all activities;
Proactively identify and report security risks to your manager;
Report actual and suspected security incidents;

Manual handling & some bending / stretching / heavy lifting required.

A strong communicator, who can easily interact with customers and team members
Supports the helpdesk service as well as covering help desk breaks and shifts.

Acts calmly and quickly in emergencies or in the face of conflicting demands
Ability to operate smartphones and radios
Communicates sensitively with patients and their families. Copes well with sickness, death and distress
Maintains a good working relationship with; Mitie employees, NHS trust employees and hospital patients
