Job Description

  • Accountable and consultative engagement with CBRE account teams and clients for decarbonisation opportunities and contractual obligations

  • Working as part of the GWS EMEA Net Zero transition team, the Head of Decarbonisation will work with contract leadership teams and the allocated PMO to develop Net Zero transition programmes identifying opportunities, risks, and dependencies

  • Provide subject matter expertise to during RFP development and/or new account transition with responsibility for financial performance, governance and risk management relating to technical estate decarbonisation

  • Recruit, develop and manage contract deployed decarbonisation SME resource responsible for net zero programme initiatives

  • Utilise and enhance the energy and sustainability assessment frameworks, process and structure deploying these to manage decarbonisation initiatives within the net zero programme

  • Collaborate with clients and colleagues responsible for the technical estate to assess key dependencies for optimal energy performance such as BMS or sub-metering using findings to develop programme scope and build business cases

  • Support decarbonisation initiatives across the client scope 3 emissions value chain by providing technical guidance and enabling systemic collaboration which displaces carbon and enables resilience

  • Work with energy management service providers (internal and external) to develop services and solutions which meet the requirements of clients in terms of renewable energy supply

  • Explore, understand, analyse, design, and prepare energy & sustainability solutions based on an ASHRAE Level I and/or Level II on-site assessment or virtual assessment of client assets

  • Coordinate ASHRAE Level III opportunity development via CBRE approved vendors with an eye to CBRE turnkey project(s) financial return and to promote the delivery of a decarbonization program

  • Prepare and present results of decarbonisation initiatives within Net Zero programmes, to CBRE leadership and to the client at all levels of management

  • Coordinate involvement of personnel from other CBRE departments to facilitate successful decarbonisation project(s) acceptance and implementation

  • Engage with APEX and APEX 7 to develop ESG life cycle impacts and incentives in structuring a decarbonisation program

Candidate Description

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from 4-year college or university required. Master's degree preferred; Minimum of 3 years of related Engineering or equivalent Environmental experience and/or training

  • Professional Engineering License, Chartered Energy manager, charted Environmentalist and/or IPMVP certification preferred

  • Experience of the energy management services market

  • Experience of BMS technology, interrogation, and the supply market

  • Experience with carbon modelling beneficial

  • Recruitment and talent management of decarbonisation SME's

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Strong organizational and analytical skills; Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable, and courteous service to internal and external stakeholders

  • Ability to effectively present information

  • Key focus for this role is to ensure that all FM services are delivered in a confident and efficient manner

  • Service orientated attitude combined with innovative thinking
