Job Description

  • Providing Carbon Governance leadership and guidance to CBRE GWS EMEA and our clients with focus on carbon compliance and risk mitigation

  • Definition of methodologies and ongoing governance of CBRE generated carbon data sets and ensuring that there is a consistent application of controls applied which mitigate risks for CBRE and their clients

  • Work with CBRE business development and legal teams to review carbon related references within tender documentation to identify risks and provide technical guidance which enable solutions

  • Provision of subject matter expertise on carbon disclosure frameworks such as SBTi, SECR, GRI, CDP, and TCFD

  • Engagement with industry carbon reduction initiatives such as EV100, EP100, RE100, etc

  • Working as part of the GWS EMEA Net Zero transition team, the Head of Carbon Governance will work with contract leadership teams and the allocated PMO to develop Net Zero transition programmes identifying opportunities, risks, and dependencies

  • Provide carbon related thought leadership internally and externally by participating in events and generating content for sharing

  • Recruit, and develop additional Carbon expertise as required responding to opportunities for growth

  • Support decarbonisation initiatives across the client scope 3 emissions value chain by providing technical guidance and enabling systemic collaboration which displaces carbon and enables resilience

  • Work with supply chain product and service providers to support their transition to net zero with a defined set of CBRE carbon requirements complied with

  • Prepare and present results of Carbon Governance initiatives to CBRE leadership and to senior clients

  • Engage with colleagues across CBRE to identify opportunities to collaborate and align on carbon governance, providing support to new initiatives across the enterprise ensuring they are compliant with CBRE carbon governance standards

Candidate Description

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from 4-year college or university required; Master's degree preferred; Minimum of 3 years of related Engineering or equivalent Environmental experience and/or training

  • Chartered Energy manager, charted environmentalist

  • Experience of disclosure frameworks such as SBTi, GRI, SECR, etc

  • Experience of the real estate, FM, outsourcing or consulting market

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable, and courteous service to internal and external customers; Ability to effectively present information

  • Strong PC skills, MS Office

  • Self-motivated and resourceful

  • Good administrative skills

  • Well organised and good prioritisation and planning skills

  • Key focus for this role is to ensure that all FM services are delivered in a confident and efficient manner

  • Service orientated attitude combined with innovative thinking

  • Knowledge and awareness of the facilities management industry

  • Practical experience in working with supply partners to deliver a seamless, integrated service
