Reporting to the Testing Unit Manager, you will oversee our vehicle fleet operations, accident and damage reporting, future vehicle planning, driver recruitment, deployment and training, respond to incidents and produce routine reports. You will also manage MTU vehicle SOPs and undertake projects and tasks as allocated, for instance, reserve deployments, bespoke deployments, etc.
In addition to this, you will deputise for the Mobile Testing Unit Manager, taking responsibility for assisting with the management, coordination and leadership for the MTU testing programme, assisting with the daily routine operations and ensuring that issues are correctly reported, responded to and/or escalated as appropriate.
This role is a home based role, but please only apply if you are comfortable with national travel, as you will be required to be on any of our sites throughout England, sometimes at short notice.
Full NHS PPE will be provided; however, we must insist that applicants are not shielding and have no underlying health issues. Your safety is of paramount importance.
These roles are Fixed Term Contracts which are expected to last between 3-6 months. We do ask that you are available to start work immediately., A Transport Manager CPC/O Licence is not required for this position as our fleet consist of vans and cars only, but you should have a demonstrable background in managing a large workforce.
Due to the necessity for travel between sites, you must be prepared for National travel and to act as Testing Unit Manager wherever required. You may be deployed in this role as a response to areas with high numbers of Covid positive residents.
Lastly, this role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and all offers of employment are subject to security clearance checks and approval by the Home Office.
Working in an environment where you are potentially dealing with high emotions and to tight deadlines isn't always easy, so first and foremost you'll need to have the confidence, communications skills, and the calmness under pressure it takes to work with a wide range of service users and stakeholders.
We ask that you have a strong background in managing a large fleet of vehicles, from a Logistics background, with a full UK driving licence.
