Youru00a0contracted hours will be 45u00a0Hours a weeku00a0with a pay rate of u00a311.54. You will report into the National Account Manager and our Securityu00a0Operations Centre at our Head Office in Northampton.Travel Expenses - There is a generous mileage allowance for all travel incurred whilst at work.u00a0Our client is the UKu2019s premier high street retailer.u00a0 As a Store Detective, you will operate across their network of stores, and utilise your observation skills to help prevent theft of stock.u00a0This is a mobile role working in multiple stores within a designated area.The work of the Detective team is crucial in the identification, apprehension and prosecution of criminals who target our client. Liaison with the police forces and other crime prevention partners, in the areas you will be operating, will be key to keeping up to date with crime trends in the area.You will remain calm under pressure and react quickly in challenging situations. As no two days at our clientu2019s regional stores are the same, you will need to be highly adaptable.You will also be required to write detailed reports, document investigations, and keep your personal notebook up-to-date. With this in mind, we are looking for candidates with au00a0GCSEu00a0or equivalent in English, and strong overall communication skills.Main DutiesObserve, deter and arrest those taking part in criminal activity.Liaise with local police.Build local network to identify and disrupt crime.Report all incidents to the M&S Security Operations Centre (SOC) in a timely and accurate fashionOccasionally attend court to provide evidence.

Person SpecificationIt is essential that you areu00a0SIA licenced and have a minimum of at least 1 yearu2019s store detective experience.A full and clean driving licence and having access to your own vehicle is essential.Exceptional observational skills.Confidence to challenge people when necessary.The ability to handle sensitive situations.Experience in a customer facing with a strong customer service background.Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).Strongly self-motivated individual possessing a can-do attitude and a drive to learn.A positive, outgoing personality looking to be part of a strong and established team.The ability to make quick decisions.Good communication skills and accurate incident reporting through to M&S S.O.COwn transport is essential.
