This is an exciting opportunity to join the Environment Agency as an Estates Terrier Officer. Estates offers professional support for Environment Agency land, property, compensation and valuation matters for all capital projects. We also support the delivery of a professional land and estate management service including the acquisition, letting and disposal of land and property. While working in multi-functional team your estates record management knowledge and expertise will ensure that we have accurate and up to date property information in order to assist in the management of our diverse functional land portfolio and that we are protected organisationally from financial and reputational risks associated with estates matters. You will maintain, improve, interrogate our paper property records and prepare these for digitisation/scanning. This will involve the interpretation of legal documents/deeds and so a knowledge of land law or professional estate management experience is desirable. You'll be part of an ambitious £5.2billion nationwide programme to deliver projects to better protect 336,000 households from flood risk by 2027. Add to this our NetZero by 2030 target, you'll be joining us at a challenging time requiring an innovative and adaptive approach. The variety of projects and the diversity of customers and clients make for an interesting and varied role, but one which is ultimately about making a longlasting difference. As an Estates Terrier Officer your main responsibilities would be: + As a property records/terrier officer you will have some experience in dealing with and understanding legal documents relating to a diverse land and property estate. + You will maintain, improve, interrogate our paper property records and prepare these for digitisation/scanning.

*an understanding and application of planning, property and land legislation
*an understanding of the various legal rights and interests in land and the different types of agreements and property deeds that are required to secure such rights.
an understanding of the management of a diverse land and operational land portfolio including property management, valuation and landlord and tenant issues. + Knowledge of IT systems ( including excel , word ) and property records systems such as Estateman (
- training will be provided) + Confident communicator, able to engage professionally, efficiently and effectively with colleagues and internal customers through good networking skills.
