Job Description

Job objectives and responsibilities:

  • Act as a representative of Mitie Water carrying out work as detailed by the Projects Manager

  • Conduct yourself in a professional manner in support of our customers and work colleagues

  • Take responsibility to deliver a first class service for the customers

  • To deal with any priority remedial works following the legionella WRA or our non-conformance results (red reports) from Mitie Water risk assessors as instructed

  • To ensure all projects are delivered on time and to the agreed specification

  • To assist in the development of a junior colleague if necessary

  • Checking paperwork and service standards completed by Environmental Service Team

  • Carry out allocated work within agreed time schedules, adhering to the Mitie Quality Management System and quality policy, and to the relevant industry guidelines and customer specifications

  • Complete reports and paperwork as instructed by the Remedial Works Manager

  • Take responsibility for your own training needs and bring them to the attention of the Remedial Works Manager

    Main Duties:

  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety Executive and the latest regulations and codes of good practice

  • Carry out pre-commission flushing and dosing on sites across the United Kingdom

  • Surveying clients sites for Flushing works and produce detailed plans as required, involving travel and overnight accommodation where needed

  • Closed system analysis

  • Work in conjunction with the admin team to create an efficient and workable schedule

  • Complete projects so they can be signed off and are compliant with HSG 274

  • Organise from start to finish on site, projects as instructed

  • Assist in the completion of other plumbing, legionella control (tank cleans, TMV servicing, sampling etc) works as and when necessary

  • Ensure that you are performing to the required standard as detailed in the job description

  • Be available to training to enhance their capabilities and efficiency

  • Provide technical support to the regional service delivery team

  • Ensure that records of work completed are kept up to date on PDA and uploaded

  • Ensure that paperwork is completed correctly and handed in on time

Candidate Description

NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing, and any other relevant qualifications working within the Water Treatment Industry

  • Previous experience within this type of commercial plumbing, drainage and mechanical building services role.

  • Adaptable building services skills to include commercial plumbing maintenance and reactive repairs on hot and cold water systems, calorifiers, point of use water heaters, booster sets, tanks.

  • Knowledge and experience in carrying out PPM, fault diagnostics and rectification on booster sets, pumps, calorifiers and associated systems.

  • ACOPS Control of Legionella L8/HSG274 training or willingness to undertake.

  • Associated knowledge and skills of carpentry & tiling would be beneficial to the role to further support the on site teams.

  • IOSH Passport certified in Health and Safety or willing to undertake.

  • Excellent communication skills both written and spoken.

  • Able to meet the physical requirements of the role; e.g.: working at height.

  • Flexible attitude to work.

  • IPAF / PASMA certificate or willing to undertake training

  • Excellent Customer Service experience preferably with an emphasis on dealing with customers and clients both face to face and over the phone.

  • Ability to work with multi-technology systems to effectively deliver PPM and Reactive tasks (PDA Devices)

  • Ability to meet the requirements of a Counter Terrorism Clearance vetting procedure to allow access to Government-demised office areas is essential.
