Job Description

  • Provide general assistance for planned and breakdown maintenance to all areas under departments engineering control.

  • Carry out daily checks and ensure plant rooms and ancillary areas remain clean and tidy. Report findings to area technician and Team Manager as appropriate.

  • Carry out plant specific checks and monitoring.

  • Ensure chemical stocks are maintained.

  • Carry out basic engineering tasks and minor first line repairs

  • Routine safety shower checks

  • Safety inspection of ladders and access equipment

  • Routinely run various water off take points within area to comply with Legionella regulations. Checking temperature of off take points

  • Carry out and complete weekly work orders (preventative and reactive maintenance)

  • Escorting contractors around site where necessary

  • Carry out and complete weekly work orders (preventative and reactive maintenance)

  • Inspection and Maintenance of batteries, emergency lighting & fork trucks.

  • Use of computerised Maintenance Management system.

  • Other area specific duties

  • Designated forklift truck driver.

  • Provide assistance and support to the GSK Eng Team and Contract Maintenance Team members.

  • Carry out ad hoc Portable Appliance Testing (PAT).

  • Routine checks of AHU magnahelic gauges.

  • Changing of filters within A.H.U.

  • Taking order & take receipt of chemicals for water treatment plant.

  • Water sampling Legionella checks.

  • Effluent Sampling.

  • Workshop/ machine checks.,

  • Follow Group and company policies and procedures at all times;

  • Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment;

  • Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received;

  • Report any issues or training needs to your Line manager and /or via your divisional incident reporting system;

    Information Security:

  • Ensure compliance with Mitie's information security procedures in all activities;

  • Proactively identify and report security risks to your manager;

  • Report actual and suspected security incidents;
