As a Digital UX Designer your main responsibilities would be: + Gain an understanding of the various user needs through a variety of research including; usability testing, interviews, surveys, ethnographic studies, and analytics + Devise and select appropriate research approaches for specific challenges + Plan, conduct and report on the research + Interpret research findings into actionable tasks

Candidate Description

  • Apply user centric design principles and GDS guidelines to create wireframes and prototypes that can be used by the development team to implement new functionality + Work with the UX lead, content designers and business analysts to identify problems and design solutions + Iterate on existing functionality and design new parts of the system + Work with the UX team to manage and improve day-to-day operations and processes + Engage with external agencies to provide additional UX resources and services + Promote user-centered design principles and best practice within Innovate UK + Maintain expertise with Government Digital Service design patterns and standards and keep regular contact with key stakeholders in government to build good working relationships You'll have relevant experience in: + Demonstrable knowledge, experience in and passion for web user-centered design practices + Proven experience of conducting user research for web-based services and translating these into wireframes and prototypes + Knowledge of GDS service design patterns and standards + Clear experience of managing, executing and analysing usability test sessions + Proven experience of implementing UX in an agile development environment + A clear track-record of delivering high-volumes of work, to strict deadlines with the ability to manage workload independently + A broad range of user research skills + Ability to effectively capture, utilise and share customer insight + Ability to quickly develop recommendations based on quantitative and qualitative evidence + Draw together and present reasonable conclusions from a wide range of incomplete and complex evidence and data
