Job Description

As a Cyber Security Operations Manager your main responsibilities would be: + Managing a dedicated team that provides cyber security operations for DfT's digital, data and technology, including networks, data centre, end-user compute, platforms, databases and applications + Providing security specialist support to DfT in the area of cyber security + Proactively and continuously analysing the activity of all of DfT's digital and information systems (e.g. logs, trends, exceptional events) + Carrying out security audits, penetration tests and security health checks both on a regular basis and as per advice and guidance from the Assurance team + Liaising and collaborating regularly with the Assurance team to coordinate on policies and strategies for carrying out the above security audits and activities + Executing any remediation actions needed to mitigate identified security risks, according to their criticality and priority, and in order to maintain the agreed level of cyber security compliance, liaising and collaborating with the Assurance team to coordinate on required priorities + Managing and fixing cyber security-related incidents, including advanced diagnosis and remediation planning, in coordination with the Assurance team + Reporting regularly to the Assurance team on security audits and activities undertaken; this information will be used to define or revisit priorities on cyber security operations + Providing support to projects and initiatives, embedding a cyber security approach within the software development lifecycle as well as all other digital projects + Having an awareness of current and new cyber security related approaches, technologies and best practices that could be potentially applied in DfT + Being accountable for the management of the tools needed for effective cyber security management

Candidate Description

You'll have relevant experience in: + Cyber Security experience in a cloud environment + Experience of running a cyber security team and hands on cyber operations + Good understanding of risks and threats + Cyber Security/Intelligence certification or equivalent
