This is a great opportunity to be involved in Commercial deals with numerous customers. Skills required to do this role are primarily that you have a good amount of common-sense. Understand the positions to be taken with a commercial deal so that both parties agree with confidence. Recognise the need for empathy and to build relationships. In this role you will be dealing directly with Sales, Finance, Product and at times with the Customers.

This role will enable a suitable candidate to work alongside and gain experience from numerous people in different teams. As a starting point for a career in BT/Telecoms this role provides a great opportunity to learn, develop and probably point you into a direction for where you may want to work (or not) in the future.

You'll have the following responsibilities

  • Part of the Commercial Team, supporting the Channel and Indirect customers - mostly Broadband and Ethernet to the wholesale market customer base.

  • Price Design and Strategy - Support creation of price designs for specific products, customer segments or customer bids.

  • Create product and customer P&L's suggesting new/alternative pricing to ensure a positive customer experience and optimum profitability for Wholesale.

  • Probability that you will be attending customer visits as the Commercial support.

  • Provide support for cross functional pricing and compliance activity, industry and regulator debate and customer pricing issues for products/customer segments.

  • Support in the embedding of pricing structures, price modelling and cost modelling across Wholesale portfolio

  • Complete forecasting and reporting against key product initiatives

  • Ability to understand and analyse payback metrics (IRR, NPV etc)

  • Ability to use insight and analyses to interpret opportunities and gaps and how to address revenue and margin gaps

  • Assist in the tracking of key interventions, pricing initiatives and bespoke Customer contracts.

Candidate Description

  • Understanding of Wholesale products and propositions (Broadband & Ethernet), the external market and the competitor environment for context of the role

  • Ability to use insight and analyses to interpret opportunities and gaps and how to address revenue and margin gaps

  • Experience - Some understanding of pricing and commercial principles.

  • Communications - Demonstrable communication, interpersonal and relationship management skills.

  • Skills - Sound numerical, pricing and price compliance skills required to support commercially and regulatory sound decisions.

  • Ability to build strong relationships and test and challenge existing thinking
