In your new role as a Cleaning Manager, you will be responsible for the below (the list is not exhaustive)
To perform any reasonable task as requested by the Support Services Manager
To ensure that all tasks are carried out in the correct manner, following any 'safe systems of work' & risk assessment' directions.
Wear the correct and appropriate P.P.E as specified .
To comply with all statutory GSK & Mitie Health & Safety regulations.
To comply with all statutory GSK & Mitie site rules & regulations
To comply with all GSK & Mitie security regulations for cleaning materials, equipment and buildings.
To provide high personal standards of work /performance, personal hygiene and appearance.
To report any complaints / incidents of accidents, fire, theft or loss, damage or any other irregularities and take action if practicable
To attend and complete all Mitie meetings and training courses as requested.
To complete all GSK My Learning Curricular Requirements
Ensure My Learning is current and up to date on a weekly basis
To ensure that communication is constant.
Maintain stock levels were appropriate
Responsible for the management and attendance of all shifts AM / PM and nights
To supervise and monitor the team's activity in all areas (including GMP and non GMP) and ensure that the required standards are adhered to and Health & Safety procedures are followed
To monitor standards in all aspects of cleaning delivery and put in place necessary corrective plans to demonstrate compliance and rectification
Ensure all necessary Quality, Health & safety processes and procedures are adhered to
Ensure all Risk Assessments, Method Statements and COSHH information is current and support with updating and training out
To support site in the preparation of external, internal audits and events
To provide daily feedback to the Support Service Manager and GSK facilities team regarding issues on cleaning activity's
To conduct and or attend daily accountability team briefings
To be available to attend regular night shift briefings to ensure all cleaning operatives are aware of key deliverables
To log, organize & ensure completion of all GMP support cleans
To organize and maintain the absence record on site including sickness and holidays, etc
Ensure the delivery of cleaning, meets the agreed standards / Site specifications through the completion of cleaning schedules
Ensure all areas are maintained by operatives/supervisors/team leaders completing job schedules / documentation
Ensure all work orders are completed correctly and respond quickly and efficiently in responding to issues and ensure they are returned in a timely manner
Develop and train new starters / operatives on required cleaning methods /standards, aiming to achieve optimum standards of performance
Recruit, induct, train and motivate staff to achieve required standards of performance
Monitor standards of cleaning across site through quality checks and retrain where necessary
To monitor all cleaning machinery onsite to ensure that testing and repairs & maintenance are reported appropriately to the client
Responsible for managing conduct and poor performance
Conduct annual appraisals to all direct reports
Provide guidance and support to site clients
Manage the client relationship and ensure a high level of service performance by the company
Liaise with colleagues to identify opportunities for improvement
Liaise with Customers and Clients as required
Attend any on-site meetings if required
Organize any additional cleaning and associated tasks as required, and any overtime that may be required within a reasonable timescale
Ensure work is carried out within budgeted operational hours
To monitor the use of overtime and additional work in line with budget
To monitor staff productivity and work with site to ensure resource levels are maintained at a suitable level to maintain standards
Flexible approach to working hours.
In order to be successful in this role you must have proven customer focus and service skills with good awareness of health and safety legislation and at least 5 years experience of managing a cleaning team of 30+ employees. You must be able to work for own initiative with good organisational and communication skills. You must fall into the required shift pattern as deemed suitable to meet contractual requirements and have a flexible approach to the role.
