The Chef will be responsible for producing dishes in line with agreed menus & recipes for retail, functions (Special Diets) operations to the required standards. You will provide a friendly, efficient and courteous service to both internal and external customers demonstrating high standards of customer service and optimising retail sales at all times. The Chef must maintain food safety, cleanliness and hygiene standards within the department and ensure that all work is carried out in line with Health and Safety, Quality and both Serco and Trust policies. The Chef will also monitor and maintain food presentation to the required standard within the retail operation and participate as a full member of the team, e.g. supporting and training other staff, participating in team meetings, working flexibly as required to cover other members of the team. You must store goods correctly and use stock on a rotational basis to optimise sales and minimise food wastage and maintain portion control and assist in stock ordering and ensure all operational practices are undertaken to budgetary constraints., Meaningful and vital work: Working within soft services at Serco means that you'll play a critical role in ensuring that patients continue to receive the care they need 24/7.
The successful candidate must have Level 3 Food Hygiene Certificate (Minimum), strong communication and customer skills and the ability to work under pressure. Experience within catering is also essential and working within a hospital environment is beneficial.
