Under the direction of Soft Services Management team
Responsible for the 'live' operation of the Guest Safety Team that manages the essential functions of;
a. All common and public areas of the shopping centre
b. Overgate emergency and evacuation procedures
c. Officer time and attendance
d. Health, safety & welfare of the Mitie site based team
e. Incidents and accidents that affect Overgate and Mitie
f. Business Continuity Planning centred on the continued operation of the control room and shopping centre
g. Overgate building security and safety
h. Providing a high standard of response to telephone and email enquiries
i. Leadership to the Mitie site based team on duty ensuring all issues are dealt with correctly
Provide timely and effective communication to all within the business including and up to the Line Manager, Mitie Management and Overgate on;
a. Incidents that occur on or effect Overgate
b. Update and collate incident information
c. Serious incident tracking and management
d. Absence & lateness reporting
e. Officer misconduct
f. Systems Fault reporting
Main Duties of the Role - Under the supervision / direction of the Security Supervisor
§ Ensure all incidents are logged and managed effectively through to completion
§ Manage the personnel within the Shopping Centre, Control Room and Back of House
§ Effectively communicate business issues to the relevant centre departments
§ Planning manpower provision within the Shopping Centre and support Car Parks
§ Maintain the standards of the Security for access / egress and visitor regulation
§ Ensure standards of dress, safety and presentation are maintained within the centre's team at all times
§ Extensive hazard spotting across the site and escalation of any safety issues to the relevant Manager
§ Delegate audits to the security team within the centre
§ To be fully conversant with the methods of working of all equipment and to ensure that it is of a standard and quality commensurate with the requirements of the property.
§ Ensure that complete and updated assignment and procedure Instructions are being followed. Where site or procedure instructions are not being followed, ensure that corrective actions are raised.
§ Ensure that all contractual requirements are properly fulfilled and if there is an issue or concern inform the line Manager.
§ Handle all day to day enquiries which arise from whatever source in respect of the daily operation of the security of the centre.
§ To develop and maintain good working relations with applicable local agencies and services.
§ Ensure all information is dealt with in a confidential and professional manner.
§ Any other reasonable request from management or client.
§ All accident and Health and Safety reports completed by officers.
§ Completion and checking of all accidents / incidents relating to Mitie personnel.
§ Responsible for ensuring the Guest Safety Team provide excellent customer service and address comments/complaints appropriately.
Skills & Knowledge
§ CCTV licence is essential
§ SIA Door Supervisor licence is essential
§ First Aid at Work desirable
§ Relevant industry experience
§ Has the ability to contribute toward a team's operation and can work on own initiative
§ Able to communicate effectively and clearly at all levels within the organisation
§ A comprehensive working knowledge of all processes and procedures
§ A decisive and assertive decision maker who can interpret situations to proceed with a prioritised action plan that achieves the results required
§ Excellent report-writing and analytical skills with attention to detail
§ Excellent organisational and time management skills
§ A positive attitude to dealing with people and taking on challenges
§ Excellent analytical skills to critically evaluate the information gathered and prioritise activity and ongoing communication
§ Excellent oral communicator
§ Strong written skills for reports, incidents and presentations
§ Excellent interpersonal skills, to liaise with safety officers, managers and directors
