The Controller is required to overview all staff working activities to ensure the necessary cleaning and security procedures and working arrangements are always adhered to.
A full detailed knowledge of all Control Room equipment and procedures will be essential. A key requirement of this role is that the person can work in what may sometimes be a demanding and pressurized environment
Ensure that all staff are mindful of delivering a high level of customer service at all times
Ensure that all staff are presentable in their appearance and positive in their approach to their duties
Pro-actively ensure that the protection of merchandise, property and assets is controlled and logged.
Help to create a safe and comfortable working environment for employees and visitors.
Help to creating an environment that produces a positive team approach, "well-being" and open attitude
Know and implement The Major Incident Management Plan, threats and evacuations as required.
Respond to emergency situations as they arise.
Accurately reporting all incidents to Centre Management.
Preventing and detecting offences on site.
Producing all procedural written reports in a timely manner using the correct reporting method.
Ensure the daily Health & safety checks are carried out
Using the correct radio voice procedure.
Liaising with the emergency services, police, ambulance and fire service to resolve issues and maintain security and service.
Checking and validating business visitor credentials.
Controlling the entry and exit of vehicles.
Making sure that no unauthorised personnel enter restricted areas.
Answering queries from visitors to the shopping centre.
Answer the telephone in a polite and professional attitude at all times
Collecting statements and evidence in reported allegations.
Accurately updating administrative records and sheets.
Escalating incidents when required to.
Cleaning procedures are adopted and continue on a daily basis as agreed. It is the Controllers responsibility to ensure this is undertaken to maximise mall coverage and minimise rest breaks occurring at the same time.
In liaison with the Cleaning Team Leader, non-routine cleaning and sub-contract cleaning are undertaken as required. This may include pressure washing, gum removal, high level cleaning and deep cleaning
To monitor operational CCTV camera images within the Security Control Centre remit
To operate effectively all operational CCTV camera technologies
To prepare and maintain Security Control Centre equipment for operational use
To operate all other associated security control room technologies (perimeter alarms/object alarms/access control alarms)
Provide a high level of service to our clients with the emphasis on customer interaction.
To complete all administrative tasks to support the above
Observe the location of all security team members and cleaners to enhance safety and provide best incident response resource solutions
Perform monitoring tasks in line with all standing operational procedures.
Arrange the use of automatic camera and screen sequencing to increase the likelihood of detecting incidents
Control the operation of all CCTV cameras to carry out necessary patrols
Inspect equipment for failures and faults
Arrange for the collation and viewing of CCTV images in response to incident investigation in line with the CCTV Code of Practice
Maintain accurate records and logs of all/any events
Inform other team members of actions to ensure contingency of operations
Communicate with operational staff concerning incidents, ensuring that all information escalation routines are observed
Follow set procedures in the event of any incident/emergency event occurring
Providing an immediate response to any major/minor incident occurring
Follow any such reasonable instruction as issued by Senior Line Management
Ensure a detailed handover is given to the oncoming Controller.
To log defects on the Fault Log report.
