Job Description

The role of the Business Transformation Manager is primarily to support the transformational changes and improvements required to make VBTS a more efficient organisation. The role will require the successful candidate to work within the current VBTS operating model that includes Chapters, Tribes and Squads. This will mean a broad remit of accountabilities and considerable scope to be involved in a wide range of activities within different parts of the business.

The primary focus of the Transformational activities will be the use of tools and systems that support our core business processes, which include Pre-Sales Solution Design, Opportunity Assessment, Opportunity Governance, Fixed line Feasibility Quoting, Demand and Resource Management, Proposal / Project delivery tracking and Stakeholder Reporting. This is to support the delivery of a transformational roadmap and the digitisation of the end-to-end customer journey. Collaborating with relevant business stakeholders and Enterprise IT, this role will also support broader process improvement activity that brings value across a wide stakeholder group.

The Business Transformation Manager will also engage across the organisation to shape demand and business requirements for the end to end transformation. It is essential that the candidate can pull away from the complexity and detail of low-level business processes and be able to clearly articulate challenging business problems and solutions at a high level. In addition, the role will require autonomy and ownership to be able to prioritise business demand based on the wider vision and strategy of the organisation. The candidate should be able to challenge what we are doing and why. With this in mind, stakeholder management will be a key element of the role.

As part of the current organisational structure, Vodafone have a flexible operating model that allows the creation of squads by bringing together colleagues from different parts of the business to jointly work on delivering a specific business outcome.

The Business Transformation Manager would need to be capable of adopting a Squad Lead role where required. This would entail co-ordinating a team of colleagues from across the business; assessing complex problem statements; planning and directing a team to work towards delivering a solution. The scope and remit of the squads will be broadly aligned to the wider transformational deliverables, but the specific outcome can vary greatly and the candidate could equally take the member of Squad Member being directed by another colleague.

With us, you will:

  • Support the business to understand the impacts of proposed process and technical changes, using process and data analysis techniques to understand problems and identify solutions.

  • Develop and propose solutions for small and large changes in partnership with operational process owners incorporating operational best practice - act as an internal consultant

  • Champion customer needs and customer experience improvements.

  • Where necessary act as a product owner within an agile scrum delivering a technical enhancement to one of the core VBTS technical tools.

  • Work with business owners, product owners and scrum teams to develop and execute business readiness plans to include for example 1. Development of training materials 2. Preparation and execution of training schedules 3. Business sign off and acceptance 4. Develop communication strategy and plans 5. Development and delivery of communications to key stakeholder groups
